About the Opportunity CornerStone Technology Talent Services is partnering with a high-growth organization to identify a Vice President of Software Engineering to lead and scale a modern engineering function in Tempe, AZ. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, enjoys building structure from complexity, and can elevate both technology and teams to the next level. This is not a maintenance role - this is a build and transform opportunity . You'll step into an environment that has scaled quickly and now needs strong technical leadership to drive architectural consistency, reduce technical debt, and implement best-in-class engineering practices across the organization. What You'll Own Lead and scale a growing engineering team from approximately 5-7 engineers to 10-15+ Establish and drive enterprise architecture standards across cloud-native platforms Partner cross-functionally with leadership to align technology strategy with business objectives Evaluate and modernize existing systems, addressing technical debt and process gaps Champion adoption of modern tooling, automation, and AI-driven development practices Build a culture of accountability, performance, and continuous improvement Act as a key technical voice with executive leadership, including investor-level communication What We're Looking For 10+ years of software engineering experience with 5+ years leading high-performing teams Proven success in regulated environments (healthcare, fintech, or government) Deep experience with enterprise systems, scalable architecture, and cloud platforms Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure Working knowledge of SOC2, HIPAA, or similar compliance frameworks Ability to balance strategic leadership with hands-on technical decision-making Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence at the executive level What Sets This Role Apart Opportunity to build and shape engineering culture and process from the ground up High visibility with executive leadership and direct impact on company growth Focus on modernization, AI adoption, and scalable architecture Collaborative environment bridging engineering and operational teams across multiple locations Why Partner with CornerStone TTS At CornerStone Technology Talent Services, we specialize in connecting top-tier technology leaders with organizations where they can make a measurable impact.
