GENERAL SUMMARY
: The Manager, Network Services provides strategic and operational leadership for the design, implementation, security, and ongoing support of the organization's enterprise network and communications services. This role ensures the delivery of highly available, secure, and scalable network services that support clinical systems, patient care technologies, business operations, and digital transformation initiatives. The Manager leads a team of network and communications professionals and partners closely with Information Security, Clinical Informatics, Cloud Services, and third‑party vendors to ensure reliable connectivity across on‑premises, cloud, and hybrid environments. This role is accountable for network resiliency, performance, compliance, and continuous improvement in alignment with healthcare regulatory and patient safety requirements.PRIMARY DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
: Network & Infrastructure Leadership Lead the architecture, deployment, and operation of enterprise network services, including LAN, WAN, wireless, data center, cloud connectivity, and communications platforms. Ensure high availability, fault tolerance, and disaster recovery capabilities for all network services supporting clinical and business systems. Proactively evaluate network performance, capacity, and utilization to meet current and future organizational demands. Develop and maintain network standards, documentation, and operational runbooks. Security, Compliance & Risk Management Partner with Information Security to ensure network services align with cybersecurity policies, Zero Trust principles, and healthcare regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA). Support vulnerability management, incident response, and network segmentation initiatives to protect patient and organizational data. Ensure compliance with change management, access controls, and audit requirements. Operations & Service Delivery Oversee monitoring, alerting, and incident response processes to minimize downtime and quickly restore services. Establish and track service level objectives (SLOs) and service level agreements (SLAs). Lead root cause analysis and continuous improvement efforts following outages or performance issues. Coordinate maintenance windows, upgrades, and lifecycle replacements with minimal impact to patient care. People Management & Development Lead, coach, and develop a high‑performing Network Services team. Recruit, onboard, train, and evaluate staff; establish clear performance expectations and development plans. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and customer service excellence. Vendor & Financial Management Manage vendor relationships for network hardware, software, carriers, and managed services. Assist in developing and managing operational and capital budgets. Evaluate technology solutions, negotiate contracts, and ensure cost‑effective use of resources. Develop capital and lifecycle plans aligned with clinical and business priorities. Strategic Planning & Innovation Contribute to IT roadmap development, technology lifecycle planning, and digital transformation initiatives. Align network services with application, cloud, and clinical system strategies. Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and healthcare networking best practices. Support enterprise projects through strong project management discipline and cross‑functional collaboration.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree required.EXPERIENCE
A minimum of seven (7) years of IT experience, with five (5) years in a network operations management function, with proven experience in coaching and supervising junior staff.LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION
CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional) is preferred.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Expert knowledge of enterprise networking technologies and protocols (LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, MPLS, BGP, wireless). Working knowledge of cloud and hybrid networking models. Strong understanding of healthcare IT environments and the critical nature of clinical system availability. Proven ability to lead teams, manage complex projects, and communicate effectively with technical and non‑technical stakeholders. Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.
