Electronic (Using your CalCareer Account) Job Description and Duties Under the general direction of the Information Technology Manager I (ITM I), the Information Technology Supervisor II serves as the technical and administrative lead for a multidisciplinary team dedicated to the department's Google Cloud Platform (GCP) infrastructure. The incumbent orchestrates the design, implementation, and maintenance of mission-critical cloud services, providing expert oversight of Identity and Access Management (IAM), cloud networking, and security protocols to ensure a resilient and scalable ecosystem. In this capacity, the Supervisor II aligns daily operational activities, including automated backups, data verification, and disaster recovery for hybrid and cloud-native solutions, with the department's broader strategic objectives to maintain peak system availability and data integrity. The Information Technology Specialist Supevisor II will work in an open-spaced, partitioned office environment, climate-controlled, in Sacramento, CA. The job involves substantial computer work, including document creation, research, email correspondence, and other related tasks. Currently, DIR has a hybrid telework schedule with a minimum of 2 days in the office per week. The work schedule is subject to change based on official state guidance and executive orders. The incumbent will be a participant in meetings in both physical and virtual locations. E.g. conference rooms and offices, and WebEx and Zoom teleconferences. As part of DIR's policy to maintain a healthy work environment, all employees should be aware that they may be required to wear masks while working in the office to prevent the spread of communicable diseases. Describe your experience leading the design, implementation, and management of a Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environment. Specifically, detail a time you led a large-scale migration from on-premises to the cloud, including the strategies you used to ensure scalability and minimal service disruption. 2. Security, Compliance & Governance:
The IT Supervisor II must ensure strict adherence to SIMM, SAM, and the CIA Triad. Provide an example of how you have implemented IAM policies and utilized tools like Security Command Center (SCC) to identify vulnerabilities and enforce the principle of least privilege in a complex cloud environment. 3. Leadership & Project Management:
Describe your experience supervising a multidisciplinary technical team. How do you prioritize tasks and manage workload distribution using tools like Jira to meet project deadlines? Please include your approach to mentoring staff and managing performance evaluations under CalHR/Civil Service guidelines.
