ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY
We're a well-established and growing company based in San Diego, and we're building toward a future where technology is genuinely at the core of how we operate and compete. We're looking for a technology executive who can own our entire tech function, from infrastructure and systems to AI strategy and engineering culture. This is a confidential search. The right person is a rare blend of strategic thinker and hands-on builder: someone who doesn't just evaluate emerging technologies but architects, deploys, and measures them.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
You'll own the full technology roadmap and keep it tightly aligned with business objectives. Day to day, that looks like: Leading our AI agenda: identifying high-value use cases, deploying agentic AI systems and intelligent automation platforms, and embedding AI-driven workflows into core operations and products. Serving as the primary technology advisor to the CEO and executive team, including on cybersecurity risk, systems investment, and AI governance. Own the vision, roadmap, and ongoing development of the company's proprietary business platform, driving innovation, AI adoption, and automation initiatives that improve sales performance, operational efficiency, user experience, and business growth.
Managing the full vendor ecosystem:
MSPs, cloud and software partners, consultants, and offshore development teams, with clear SLAs, accountability structures, and milestone tracking. Overseeing custom application development, system integrations, API architecture, and low-code/no-code automation initiatives in partnership with internal and external technical teams. Building and leading a high-performing engineering and AI team grounded in technical rigor, experimentation, and continuous improvement. Ensuring our infrastructure, security posture, data architecture, and cloud environment are resilient, compliant, and built to scale.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
You bring at least 5 years of progressive technology leadership with direct, hands-on responsibility across systems administration, cloud platforms, application development, networking, and cybersecurity. Beyond the credentials, here's what will set you apart: You've architected and scaled engineering systems in complex environments and know how to build technical teams that operate at a high level. You have real, production experience with applied
AI:
agentic systems, workflow automation platforms, or intelligent automation that delivered measurable business outcomes, not just proofs of concept. You bring a natural curiosity and a "How can we do this better?" mindset, constantly questioning assumptions, identifying inefficiencies in existing systems, and finding opportunities for step-change improvements in how technology supports the business. You can communicate system architecture, technical tradeoffs, and security risk clearly to non-technical executives and board-level stakeholders. You move from concept to production. You have a track record of shipping, not just planning. A bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
NICE TO HAVE
Experience with the Microsoft ecosystem: M365, Azure, Entra ID, Intune, Power Platform, SharePoint, Teams. Background in a high-growth, scale-up, or operationally intensive environment (financial services, real estate, title, escrow, or similar). Experience managing AI, cloud, cybersecurity, and software development service providers. Familiarity with the regulatory and ethical dimensions of AI deployment.
Relevant certifications:
Azure, Microsoft, CISSP, PMP, ITIL, or AI-related credentials.
WHY THIS ROLE
This company has strong operational momentum, a capable team, and leadership that is genuinely committed to technology as a competitive differentiator. You'll have executive buy-in, real systems to modernize, and the autonomy to build something that lasts. Compensation includes a base salary between $100,000 and $120,000, and performance bonus. Specific details will be shared as we get to know each other better. Employer name will be disclosed to qualified candidates following an initial conversation.
