The Torrance Police Department strives to remain at the forefront of policing by providing our officers with the latest in public safety equipment and technology , and by providing our officers with the best law enforcement training available. The Position The City of Torrance is seeking a strong leader for the position of Information Technology Manager - Public Safety to oversee day to day operations and manage staff in the Information Technology Services (ITS) Division in the Torrance Police Department. The Public Safety IT Manager plans, develops, implements, and supports the TPD technology systems data center, cybersecurity, and network operations. This position s upports all TPD enterprise systems, r egularly monitors project status and systems performance metrics to ensure results consistent with customer expectations, coordinates projects with other City departments and agencies, is r esponsible for the TPD ITS division's service requests, project tracking, and staff workload in the ITSM system, and p erforms related duties as required. SALARY INFORMATION
$12,055 - $15,978 - $18,374 per month + Benefits (Min) (Ref. Point) (Max) Appointments are typically made between the minimum and reference point depending on qualifications.

MONTHS OF ACTUAL SERVICE AFTER PERMANENT APPOINTMENT AS A CIVIL SERVICE EMPLOYEE BY THE FINAL FILING PERIOD.
Education and Experience Any combination of education and experience that provides the knowledge and skills required is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and skills would be: Graduation from a college or university with a Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field such as information technology or information security and over seven (7) years of enterprise applications development and support in the government or business environment, including at least three (3) years of supervisory and project management experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. License or Certificates Must possess and maintain an appropriate valid California driver's license. Certifications in enterprise applications development, GIS technologies, cybersecurity, database management, Microsoft Power Platform, or programming languages are highly desired.
