Job Description

About Us Savannah State University established in 1890, is the first public historically black college or university in the state of Georgia and the first institution of higher learning in the city of Savannah. The university's students select majors from five colleges: Business Administration Education Engineering and Computing Media, Arts, and Communication Science and Humanities The campus is by far the most picturesque in the state of Georgia. Job Summary Reporting to the Chief Information Officer (CIO), the incumbent serves as the first line of support for ITS. The position provides administrative support to direct the business management activities of the department. Major responsibilities include greeting and directing customers, answering and routing phone calls, managing office inventory and purchasing, filing, and typing various correspondence to include e-mails, memos, etc. The incumbent may be required to perform job-related tasks not specifically delineated in this description.

This position does not offer sponsorship for employment visas. Responsibilities Responsible for day-to-day activities in the office, providing administrative support to the department. Provide support to the department staff by handling and routing phone calls, visitors, and mail Prepare purchase card requests, check requests, and the like for the acquisition of supplies and equipment; manage office inventory Enter requisitions and assist the CIO in tracking and budgeting campus expenditures. Research and provide computer configurations for new computer system purchases Compose and prepare correspondence for distribution Maintain office records and files Serves as backup for the Helpdesk and assists with requests from campus users for the work order system; serves as the initial point of contact for work order requests Manages travel and expense processes for department staff Provide users with instructional support for using network applications Assists with providing support to faculty, staff, and students Required Qualifications Associate's degree in business management or related field Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Suite and computer operating systems At least 2 years of office/administrative support experience Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in business management or related field along with the minimum requirements to perform the work Work experience in higher education Proposed Salary The proposed salary range is $37,000.00
