The Hardware Refresh Manager leads the lifecycle planning and execution of hardware refresh activities across end-user devices, servers, and network equipment in a federal IT environment. The role oversees large-scale deployment, decommissioning, and secure disposal of IT assets to keep the environment secure, supportable, and aligned with enterprise standards. This position works closely with logistics, procurement, and operations teams to coordinate refresh schedules, manage vendor credits, and minimize disruption to mission-critical operations. Key Responsibilities Design and maintain a multi-year hardware refresh strategy and roadmap, defining replacement cycles, prioritization criteria, and enterprise hardware standards. Assess hardware health, performance, and support status to identify end-of-life and end-of-support risks and translate them into actionable refresh plans. Plan and manage large-scale refresh projects, including demand forecasting, procurement coordination, warehouse staging, imaging, deployment, and rollback strategies. Establish and enforce refresh policies and procedures for laptops, mobile devices, and network equipment to ensure consistency, security, and compliance. Coordinate secure decommissioning and disposal processes, including data sanitization and compliant recycling or destruction of retired assets. Manage relationships with hardware vendors related to trade-in credits, warranty coverage, and advanced replacement programs. Use asset and configuration management systems to maintain accurate inventories, track refresh status, and provide metrics and reports to leadership. Align refresh planning with security baselines and enterprise architecture standards so hardware platforms support current and future operating systems and critical applications. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience. 2-5 years of experience in IT hardware lifecycle management, asset management, or large-scale deployment/refresh projects. Demonstrated experience coordinating procurement, warehouse, and deployment activities for IT equipment in an enterprise environment. Familiarity with asset management and configuration management tools used to track inventory and lifecycle status. Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance; U.S. citizenship required; ability to travel less than 10%. Preferred Qualifications Certification in IT asset management or hardware lifecycle management (such as CHAMP or similar). Experience delivering refresh programs in highly regulated public-sector or federal environments. Exposure to ITIL-based IT Service Management processes and their application to hardware lifecycle activities.
