This leadership role is responsible for ensuring secure, reliable, and HIPAA-compliant technology systems that support staff, clients, and organizational growth. The Director of IT will provide hands-on technical leadership while managing vendors, technology assets, budgets, and long-term IT planning. Position Summary The Director of Information Technology oversees all technology systems, infrastructure, and security for Fernbrook Family Center. This role ensures effective day-to-day IT operations, manages technology vendors and software systems, and supports agency staff through troubleshooting, training, and strategic planning. The Director of IT also supervises the IT Specialist and serves as a key partner in aligning technology initiatives with organizational goals and compliance requirements. Key Responsibilities Oversee and maintain the agency's network, hardware, software, and technology infrastructure Manage cybersecurity practices, threat monitoring, and secure system configurations Ensure technology systems and software solutions meet HIPAA compliance standards Supervise and support the IT Specialist to ensure efficient daily IT operations Provide troubleshooting and help-desk support during escalated situations or staff absences Manage IT vendors, contracts, and service agreements Oversee procurement, inventory, maintenance, and replacement of technology assets Develop long-term technology planning and lifecycle management systems Create and manage the annual IT budget Coordinate staff training on technology systems, cybersecurity, and agency tools Develop and maintain IT policies, procedures, and technical documentation Support implementation of new systems, upgrades, and technology improvements Partner with agency leadership to ensure technology aligns with operational and compliance needs Perform additional duties as assigned Qualifications Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field Strong technical knowledge of networks, hardware, software, Microsoft 365 administration, and cybersecurity Experience managing network infrastructure and cybersecurity tools Excellent troubleshooting, organizational, and communication skills Strong commitment to confidentiality, data security, and HIPAA compliance Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, automobile insurance, and acceptable driving record Ability to pass a Department of Human Services background check Preferred Qualifications Minimum of three years of IT experience; leadership or supervisory experience preferred Experience working with HIPAA-compliant systems strongly preferred Bilingual candidates encouraged to apply Work Environment & Schedule Flexible schedule generally between 7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. Expected travel between Fernbrook offices, community settings, and other agency locations Salaried position with expected work hours of approximately 40-45 hours per week, with flexibility as needed to support agency operations Physical Requirements Prolonged periods of sitting, observing, listening, and working on a computer Ability to occasionally lift up to 15 pounds Commitment to Inclusion Fernbrook Family Center values an inclusive and accommodating work environment and welcomes applicants with lived experiences that reflect the populations we serve.
