Purpose The Senior Manager, Metering & Customer Technology integration acts as the liaison between the Customer function, Metering function, and IT, ensuring that metering platforms and related processes are reliable, compliant, and continuously improved. This role is responsible for scoping metering-related technology initiatives, leading development and support teams, and ensuring accurate and timely data flow into billing and regulatory systems.
This role aligns IT solutions with operational and regulatory priorities, safeguarding revenue integrity, improving customer trust, and ensuring compliance with utility industry standards. This role provides leadership and direction for a team of technical resources responsible for managing and improving the utility's Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI), metering network, hardware, middleware, and all components required to capture usage and feed data into SAP.

- Lead a team of technical resources responsible for the operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of AMI and metering networks, including hardware, middleware, and software components.
- Manage internal and external resources, including vendors and service providers, ensuring alignment, accountability, and high-quality delivery.
- Provide guidance, coaching, and mentorship to develop team capabilities and foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement
- Ensure accurate, secure, and timely transmission of usage data into SAP billing and regulatory systems.
- Oversee the management and performance of the utility's AMI infrastructure, metering network, and associated middleware and software platforms.
- Monitor KPIs and metrics for metering network reliability, data accuracy, and system performance, implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Scope, plan, and oversee metering-related technology initiatives, including system enhancements, integrations, and upgrades.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize metering performance, data quality, and operational efficiency.
- Identify risks, issues, and dependencies related to metering systems and work with teams to resolve them proactively.
- Lead internal and outsourced developers to deliver enhancements, upgrades, and fixes for metering platforms.
- Ensure metering-related changes are tested, validated, and quality-assured by the business.
- Oversee L2/L3 support for metering systems, coordinating with Helpdesk for L1 incidents.
- Ensure metering applications meet reliability, accuracy, and regulatory compliance standards.
- Monitor risks and manage dependencies in collaboration with IT Operations, Finance, and Enterprise Architecture.
- Act as the primary liaison between Customer BRM, Metering, and IT functions to align metering initiatives with business, operational, and regulatory priorities.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory teams, to ensure compliance with industry standards and utility regulations.
- Maintain transparent communication with stakeholders regarding system performance, project status, and escalated issues.
