About CECH-IT The College of Education, Criminal Justice, Human Services and Information Technology (CECH-IT) is dedicated to making a difference in our communities through outreach, academic programs, and community partnerships. About the School of Education The School of Education at the University of Cincinnati prepares caring, competent and committed educational scholars and practitioners, conducts transformative research, and collaborates with community and professional partners to enrich educational practice and create positive social change. Job Overview The School of Education is seeking part-time/limited adjunct instructors to serve as field supervisors to join the team in the College of Education, Criminal Justice, Human Services, and Information Technology (CECH). CECH serves as a model that actively supports, empowers, prepares, respects, and celebrates all students, staff, faculty, and community members by advancing intellectual pursuits and professional development. The position requires the capacity to communicate program expectations, mentor licensure program students in field experiences, review field assignments and complete field evaluations, meet with/observe students in the field multiple times per semester, attend meetings several times per semester and report requirements to student teachers and site mentors. The adjunct supervisor will communicate with program Field Coordinator on student progress. On a part time limited basis, the Adjunct Faculty member's primary academic functions include supervision, observation, and evaluation of teacher candidates at school partner sites. The faculty member would be responsible for creating and reporting knowledge to a diverse set of students. Must have availability during the typical pk-12 school day and must have reliable means of transportation to partner schools. Essential Functions
  • Evaluate the teaching performance of teacher candidates at field schools and provide oral and written feedback
  • Evaluate assignments and provide written feedback
  • Communicate with teacher candidates, mentor teachers, and UC faculty members regarding the performance of the teacher candidate
  • Troubleshoot any issues that may arise Required Education
  • Bachelor's degree in appropriate discipline and prior teaching experience
  • Pk-12 teaching or supervisory license in an appropriate field Required Experience
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to present complex material to students unfamiliar with a subject.
  • Ability to work and collaborate with individuals from a variety of backgrounds. Additional Qualifications Considered

  • Intermediate computer skills and willingness to use learning management systems, such as Canvas and SLL
