This role also supports network security initiatives, contributing to the maintenance of a secure and compliant healthcare IT environment, while leading process improvement and technology management efforts.
Key responsibilities include:
Serve as the first point of contact for technical support, resolving issues related to hardware, software, printers, mobile devices, and network connectivity. Provide remote and on-site troubleshooting and support for end-users across various departments. Assist the IT Director in implementing and maintaining network security protocols and data protection measures, including those aligned with HIPAA regulations. Configure, install, and maintain workstations, laptops, peripherals, and approved applications. Oversee IT projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely and successful delivery. Lead process and workflow management initiatives to streamline IT operations, improve efficiency, and enhance user experience. Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement across IT systems and support function Monitor and respond to help desk tickets in a timely and professional manner, escalating complex issues when necessary. Maintain detailed documentation of support activities, resolutions, and user guides. Educate users on IT best practices, including cybersecurity awareness and proper use of tools and systems. Support software deployments, system updates, and other technical projects. Maintain confidentiality and discretion in all aspects of IT support, particularly when handling sensitive healthcare data. Travel out of state as needed, with advance notice, to support satellite locations or special projects. All other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
4 years of hands-on IT support experience in a help desk or technical support role, preferably in a medium-sized business environment. Working knowledge of healthcare IT systems and familiarity with HIPAA compliance standards. Proficient in troubleshooting Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc.) and Microsoft Windows OS. Strong understanding of basic networking concepts (e.g., IP addressing, DNS, VPN, firewalls). Experience with ticketing systems and remote support tools. Demonstrated ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively. Strong documentation and organizational skills. 4 years of hands-on IT support experience in a help desk or technical support role, preferably in a medium-sized business environment. Preferred Qualifications:
Associate or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Experience in healthcare or medical office IT environments. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems and data access protocols. Basic experience with Microsoft 365 administration.
