Excellent benefits package, including up to 10% retirement contribution. Based in Springfield, Oregon . The IT Manager will be expected to work onsite at least some days per week, with remote work from home available as well.

Position Summary The IT Manager leads the IT staff and technology infrastructure at Oregon Research Institute and Influents Innovations (affiliated organizations). This hands-on position participates in daily IT operations at both organizations. The IT Manager ensures secure, reliable, and efficient IT operations that support research, data management and analysis, communication, collaboration, product support, and administrative functions. The IT Manager will oversee IT strategy, systems administration, cybersecurity, research computing support, and vendor management, while aligning technology initiatives with both organizations' research and operational goals. Oregon Research Institute is an independent non-profit behavioral sciences research center dedicated to understanding human behavior and improving the quality of human life through the prevention and treatment of health, educational, and social problems. From pioneering behavioral health studies to new insights in education, healthy aging, and public health, ORI conducts evidence-based research that makes a difference in people's lives. ORI | Advancing science. Enhancing lives. Influents Innovations specializes in the invention, development, and commercialization of evidence-based products and services for healthcare, social service, and education systems. Influents' mission is to displace digital snake oil with behavioral research-based solutions delivered through innovative technologies. Influents Innovations products and services are developed in collaboration with in-house researchers as well as scientists at universities and other research centers throughout the country (www.influentsin.com). The employees across both organizations include nationally recognized research scientists, mental health therapists and clinicians, psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners, methodologists, data analysts, data managers, research assistants, digital media designers and producers, project managers, software architects, developers, and administrative staff. Experience and Training Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and six (6) years of experience managing an IT department, or any equivalent combination of education and experience which provide the applicant with the knowledge, skill, and ability required to perform the job. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities IT strategy, systems operations, networking administration, cybersecurity, and computer operational support. Personnel management (directionsupervision), planning, budgeting, and facilitation of decision-making. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Key Responsibilities IT StrategyLeadership Plan and align IT services with organizational and research priorities. Advise leadership on technology investments, infrastructure planning, and emerging technologies. Present plans, policies, and budgets to the appropriate teams for discussion and approval. Lead, supervise, and mentor IT staff. InfrastructureSystems Management Oversee network infrastructure, servers (on-premises and cloud), storage systems, and endpoint devices. Includes cloud platforms (e.g., Microsoft 365, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) Ensure high availability, performance, and scalability of systems. Develop and maintain backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity plans. Coordinate infrastructure development and support for the Influents and ORI websites and individual product websites as needed. Coordinate meetings with other teams involved in product development, including software development, business development, marketing, and design, to evaluate processes and ensure continuity of service. Cybersecurity, Compliance, Research Computing,Data Support Ensure compliance with data governance standards, grant/agency requirements, regulatory frameworks (e.g., HIPAA where applicable). Support secure storage, transfer, and analysis of research data. Collaborate with researchers to evaluate and implement specialized software and computing solutions. Work with IT staff to set up support portals and workflows within the FreshDesk system for product support as needed. Ensure end users and researchers know benefits and risks associated with AI, and oversee compliance with AI policies. Lead cybersecurity strategy, risk assessments, and mitigation efforts. Oversee monitoring of systems for vulnerabilities and respond to security incidents. VendorBudget Management Develop and oversee IT budgets; present to teams and committees. Manage IT vendors, service providers, and licensing agreements. Negotiate contracts and maintain service-level agreements. User SupportService Delivery Oversee help desk operations; ensure timely issue resolution. Establish service level standards and performance metrics. Promote a customer-service-oriented IT culture. Communicate IT service updates or changes that impact users in a timely fashion.
