AIRO is offering a unique opportunity to join a highly focused and motivated team of engineers in defining, designing, and implementing these advanced systems. Position Overview We are seeking an experienced IT Director to lead and build our internal IT function. The IT Director will be responsible for designing and operationalizing design the company's IT function as well as provide day-to-day support for employees and leaders, ensuring compliance with CMMC requirements and developing scalable IT processes that align with business objectives. This position can be based in Phoenix or Virginia/hybrid. Key Responsibilities Develop and execute a comprehensive IT strategy aligned with organizational goals Build and lead the internal IT function, including designing, implementing, and continuously improving IT policies, procedures, and systems Manage and coordinate help desk operations in collaboration with third-party vendors to ensure timely and effective technical support. Lead efforts to achieve and maintain CMMC compliance and ensure adherence to cybersecurity requirements for government contracts (e.g., NIST 800-171) Prepare for audits and assessments, maintaining documentation and controls Oversee infrastructure, networks, systems, cloud environments, and end-user support Ensure high availability, performance, and scalability of IT systems Serve as the primary IT liaison to internal employees and leadership Partner with departments to understand and support their technology needs Manage relationships with external IT consultants, managed service providers, and vendors Ensure third-party services align with security and compliance requirements Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field 8-10+ years of progressive IT experience Demonstrated experience with CMMC and government contracting environments Strong knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST 800-171, NIST CSF) Experience building or transforming IT functions within growing organizations Preferred certifications: CISSP, CISM, CMMC
Registered Practitioner or Certified CMMC Professional Physical and Mental Requirements Standing and sitting for extended periods of time, Lifting up to 25 pounds in a safe and prudent manner, Ability to work and communicate well with other employees and management, Ability to perform work utilizing manual dexterity of the hands, Ability to push, pull, bend, stoop, reach above and below shoulders, and full use of upper extremities, Ability to easily move through an approximately 25,000 square foot warehouse building, Ability to read, write, and understand English, Correctable vision and hearing.
