About the Role We are seeking an experienced candidate for the role of IT Manager / Systems Administrator in our North American corporate headquarters in Sumter, SC. This position oversees the organization's IT infrastructure, manages the IT team, and ensures reliable, secure, and efficient technology operations. The role combines practical technical administration with leadership, budgeting, strategic planning, and cross-departmental coordination. Responsibilities Supervise and manage IT department Systems Administrators Administer and support Microsoft Dynamics NAV applications and SQL databases Provide Tier III support for client hardware/software (Windows 10/11, desktops, laptops, peripherals) Manage Microsoft Active Directory, SCCM, and Citrix VPN (Tier II) Maintain Cisco network infrastructure, Fortinet firewalls, and VMware virtualization (Tier I) Administer VoIP/PBX telecommunications (Unify preferred), HCL Notes email, and security suites (Tier II) Oversee backups, disaster recovery, network/application security, and firewall protection (Tier I) Manage IT budget, hardware/software procurement, device inventory, and software licensing Coordinate software training, system interfaces with parent company, and data exchange Develop and maintain IT policies, one- and three-year plans, budgets, action plans, and departmental goals Evaluate emerging technologies to improve efficiency and performance Prepare activity/performance reports for senior leadership Lead IT projects (scope, resources, timeline, budget) Monitor user satisfaction, resolve issues, and implement service improvements Ensure system compatibility, enforce IT policies, and support company-wide initiatives Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience) Minimum 7+ years of practical systems administration experience and fundamental networking experience Minimum 3-5 years in an active (on-site) supervisory or managerial role Proven expertise supporting Windows environments, Active Directory, SCCM, VPN, and small- to mid-sized business IT Required Skills Analytical and problem-solving Communication Attention to detail Resourcefulness Flexibility Preferred Skills Relevant certifications (CompTIA A+/Network+/Security+, Microsoft, Cisco, ITIL) Experience with ERP system administration (Microsoft Dynamics NAV preferred), migrations, or implementations Project management experience Bilingual (English/German) a plus Technical Knowledge & Skills Windows 10/11 and Windows Server 2012 R2+ administration Microsoft Dynamics NAV applications and SQL database administration Active Directory, SCCM, Citrix VPN VMware virtualization VoIP/PBX systems HCL Notes (server/client) administration LAN/WAN networking, DNS, firewall, and network security fundamentals General knowledge of MS Office 2016, hardware basics, SCCM imaging, and data communications Join us as an IT Manager where your expertise will directly influence our technological growth!
