This role ensures enterprise applications are reliable, scalable, and aligned with business needs while supporting operational efficiency and continuous improvement. Working closely with business stakeholders, project management team, enterprise architecture, infrastructure, and vendors, this role manages application enhancements, operational support, and delivery coordination while maintaining strong standards for requirements documentation, testing, and solution quality. This position leads a team of application specialists and collaborates closely with project management team to ensure business requirements are effectively translated into application capabilities. The role also supports the execution of enterprise technology initiatives under the broader direction of IT leadership. Core Responsibilities Enterprise Platform Ownership Own the operational health and lifecycle of enterprise application platforms across the organization Ensure platforms meet availability, reliability, scalability, and usability expectations Drive standardization and consistency across enterprise application environments Support application lifecycle activities including upgrades, patches, testing, deployment, and documentation Partner with enterprise architecture, infrastructure, and security teams to ensure alignment with technology standards and policies Support modernization initiatives including cloud adoption, platform consolidation, and improved integration capabilities Enterprise Application Strategy Support Support execution of the organization's enterprise application strategy and technology roadmap Contribute to initiatives involving cloud platform adoption, system integration, and enterprise data capabilities Identify opportunities to improve platform efficiency, reliability, and long-term sustainability Partner with architecture and infrastructure teams to ensure application platforms align with enterprise standards Assist in evaluating new technologies and platform capabilities to support evolving business needs Requirements & Project management Coordination Partner with project management team to support requirements gathering and documentation for application enhancements and projects Ensure business needs are clearly translated into functional and technical requirements Coordinate with stakeholders to prioritize enhancements and system improvements Support documentation standards including process flows, functional requirements, and acceptance criteria Participate in user testing and validation of delivered functionality Delivery Coordination Manage application enhancement backlogs and intake processes Coordinate delivery timelines across internal technology teams and external vendors Track progress of application initiatives and ensure timely delivery of agreed functionality Identify and escalate project risks, dependencies, or scope changes Support consistent delivery practices, documentation standards, and governance processes Application Support & Operations Oversee day-to-day application support activities and incident resolution Monitor recurring issues and coordinate root cause analysis and remediation Ensure appropriate support processes and service expectations are maintained Coordinate release readiness, deployment activities, and post-deployment support Promote continuous improvement in system stability, usability, and performance Vendor & Platform Coordination Work with software vendors and implementation partners to support application platforms and enhancements Coordinate vendor troubleshooting, upgrades, and support activities Assist in evaluating vendor solutions and platform capabilities when appropriate Ensure vendor deliverables align with organizational requirements and timelines Business Engagement Partner with Business Relationship Management teams to understand business priorities and translate them into application initiatives Providing application expertise to support business capability planning and technology adoption Support prioritization of application enhancements aligned with enterprise objectives Team Leadership & Supervisory Responsibilities Lead and develop a team of application specialists supporting enterprise platforms Assign work across operational support, enhancement initiatives, and project activities Collaborate closely with project management team to align requirements, priorities, and delivery outcomes Provide coaching, mentoring, and performance management for team members Support professional development and skill growth within the team Foster strong collaboration across IT teams, business stakeholders, and external partners Promote strong standards in documentation, stakeholder Requirements:
Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field required Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered Relevant certifications such as ITIL, PMP/Agile (CSM), or platform-specific certifications (e.g., Microsoft, ServiceNow, Salesforce) are preferred
Minimum Required Work Experience:
5-8 years of progressive IT experience, including hands-on responsibility for enterprise applications, with prior leadership or ownership experience preferred.
