Job Description

Our information technology team is the foundation behind every endeavor at SailPoint. They ensure that all of our orgs are able to execute, connect and innovate in a secure environment through duties such as supporting network databases and systems, updating system hardware and software, troubleshooting for system errors, and assisting team members in supporting all data security and optimization. We are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on IT Infrastructure and Data Center Manager to lead and oversee the planning, implementation, and maintenance of our IT infrastructure and data center operations. This role is critical to ensuring the stability, security, and scalability of the organization's IT environment, including servers, storage, networking, cloud services, and disaster recovery systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Infrastructure Management:
Design, implement, and maintain robust IT infrastructure strategies and architectures. Manage enterprise-level hardware and software systems, including servers, storage, and network devices. Monitor system performance, availability, and capacity planning to ensure uptime and scalability.
Data Center Operations:
Oversee the day-to-day operations of data center facilities (on-premise and/or co-located). Ensure efficient power usage, cooling, and space management in compliance with industry standards. Manage vendor relationships and service contracts related to data center hardware, hosting, and facilities.
Leadership & Team Management:
Lead and mentor a team of infrastructure engineers and support technicians. Manage project timelines, deliverables, and resource allocation. Establish and enforce operational policies and procedures.
Security & Compliance:
Implement and enforce data security, backup, and disaster recovery procedures. Ensure compliance with internal policies, external regulations (e.g., SOC Type 2, SOX & ISO, IRAP, and audit requirements.) Coordinate vulnerability assessments and remediation efforts.
Cloud and Hybrid Environments:
Support integration and management of cloud-based infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud). Drive hybrid cloud strategies aligned with organizational goals.
Budgeting & Reporting:
Develop and manage budgets related to infrastructure and data center operations. Provide regular reporting on infrastructure performance, risks, and strategic initiatives to senior leadership. Plan for

Learn & Assess Stakeholder Alignment:
Complete introductory 1-on-1 meetings with your 7 global team members (across the US, India, and Israel) and key cross-functional partners (e.g., Cybersecurity, DevOps) to map out team dynamics, roles, and expectations.
System Discovery:
Document the current technology landscape, including an initial assessment report on ongoing projects, immediate challenges, and the operational status of legacy systems within the Austin data center. First 60

Assume Ownership & Identify Optimizations Operational Transition:
Successfully assume full operational control of the US data center and global team management from the transitioning APAC manager.
Optimization Blueprint:
Complete a comprehensive audit of current legacy systems and present a formal plan identifying at least 3 distinct opportunities to optimize IT operations and drive automation in server deployment and management. First 90

Execute, Automate, & Innovate Drive Automation:
Implement the first major phase of your automation strategy for server management and IT operations, establishing baseline metrics to measure the reduction of manual deployment bottlenecks. Innovate with

Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (Master's preferred). Relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL, Cisco, Microsoft, VMware, AWS/Azure) are a plus.
Experience:
7 or more years of experience as an IT Systems Engineer in a global enterprise environment. 3 or more years of experience in a technical or people leadership role in a global enterprise environment. Experience with international compliance frameworks such as
ISO 27001, SOC
Type 2, SOX, FedRAMP, IRAP, C5, and Cyber Essentials. Proven experience managing data centers and critical infrastructure systems.
Technical Skills:
Deep knowledge of networking, server architecture, virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V), and storage technologies. Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and migration strategies. Experience with monitoring tools, automation scripts, and infrastructure-as-code (IaC) is a plus. Strong scripting and automation development skills. Deep experience with vulnerability management. Expertise in Windows and Linux server administration. Expertise with VMWare virtualization and automation (vCenter, vSphere, Aria Automation, etc.). Expertise with Microsoft 365 administration, including Entra ID, Exchange Online, and Teams. Expertise in configuration management tools such as Intune, SCCM, Ansible, Tanium, etc. Strong knowledge of networking principles and protocols. Experience with datacenter server and storage technologies.
Soft Skills:
Strong leadership and communication abilities. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
Must be located in Austin, TX with the ability to maintain a hands-on presence at the main data center. Occasional travel to other data center locations may be required. Must be available for after-hours support and on-call rotation, as needed. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the SailPoint Corporate Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission, along with potential eligibility for equity participation. SailPoint maintains broad salary ranges for its roles to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect SailPoint's differing products, industries, and lines of business. Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity. We estimate the base salary, for US-based employees, will be in this range from (min-mid-max, USD): $104,500 - $176,174.00 Base salaries for employees based in other locations are competitive for the employee's home location.
