PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Facilitate the effective use educational technology in district-wide instructional programs. Assist in the

QUALIFICATIONS
EducationCertification:
Valid Texas Teaching Certificate
Bachelor's andor Master's degree in educational technology preferred
Texas SBEC certification in computerstechnology preferred
Administrative or Mid-Management Certification preferred

- Demonstrate leadership ability in working with other administrators, teachers, students,
parents, and the general public
- Ability to interpret policy, procedures, and data

- Successful experience in planning and managing a large technology budget with
knowledge and experience in controlling technology costs

- Knowledge technologies available for use in instructional settings
- Knowledge curriculum design and implementation
- Ability to develop and deliver technology training to adult learners

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Instructional . Provide leadership and technical expertise in the development and

purchases.
. Develop, organize, and implement a comprehensive district plan for educational
technology.

Organization
. Develop, organize, implement, and coordinate the technology staff development,
in-service activities, and training district personnel.
. Perform district training and staff development district personnel to use data
analysis programs for test results.
. Maintain district campus data disaggregation and dissemination from STAAR and
benchmark tests.
Administration
FiscalMgmt . Develop and implement the comprehensive District Improvement Plan and long
- Facilities range plans for the integration technology into instructional programs.
. Develop and supervise budgets for the Educational Technology Department.
. Supervise budgets for data analysis, grants, and the technology bond.
. Maintain statistical data and operational information regarding educational
technology and data analysis.
. Manage resources related to educational technology.
. Recommend new programs and improvements in the existing programs.
. Provide leadership in the evaluation, acquisition, utilization, and maintenance of
technology and technology programs.
. Assist in the planning and development computer facilities.
. Accumulate and maintain operational information and statistical data regarding
the district's educational technology.
. Assist in the supervision the District's educational technology hardware
maintenance program.
. Present information to the School Board and Bond Committee.
Other . Perform other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise and evaluate the performance trainers and support staff assigned to the Educational
Technology area.
