Job Description
- Position Summary
- The Manager, IT Application Development, is responsible for the planning, delivery, and ongoing support of enterprise store technology solutions across Family Dollar's retail footprint.
- Key Responsibilities
- + Own intake, prioritization, and delivery of application development initiatives from requirements through deployment + Lead and coordinate internal staff, consultants, systems integrators, and hardware/software vendors + Provide oversight and technical direction for application development, integrations, and deployments + Curate scalable enterprise level solutions that are reliable and optimized for future growth + Manage multiple concurrent initiatives while identifying risks, dependencies, and mitigation strategies + Oversee store technology deployments to ensure minimal operational impact + Manage budgets, forecasts, vendor contracts, and change orders + Hold vendors accountable to delivery commitments, SLAs, and financial controls + Drive process improvement, delivery quality, and operational stability + Develop team members through coaching, performance management, and resource planning +
Travel:
10% or more for project-related events, conferences, and on-site meetings when required- Minimum Qualifications
- + Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, MIS, or a related field and 5+ years of relevant IT experience OR 10+ years of equivalent progressive experience + Experience managing internal teams and external development vendors + Experience working with systems integrators, software vendors, and hardware providers + Strong project and delivery management skills across complex initiatives + Experience with retail hardware and services procurement, including contract negotiation + Proven ability to manage budgets, forecasts, and vendor financial accountability + Strong communication and stakeholder management skills •Preferred Technical Background•+ Familiarity with •retail store systems•such as POS, store portals, workforce management, or storelevel mobile applications + Working knowledge of: + Web and mobile application development + Backend services, APIs, and system integrations + Data feeds and ETL processes + Experience supporting •business critical, highly integrated systems•+ Exposure to •Agile or hybrid delivery models•and SDLC best practices + General understanding of •cloud platforms•(AWS, Azure, or GCP) and enterprise architecture considerations Family Dollar is an equal opportunity employer and committed to recruiting, hiring, training, and promoting qualified people of all backgrounds, and make all employment decisions without regard to any protected status.
