We strive to inspire our customers to distinguish their unique style with a highly curated selection of hand-picked and exclusive designs. Shades of Light started from humble beginnings in 1986 as a small, single retail location in historic Richmond, Virginia selling unique, high-style lighting designs. Since that time, the company has grown to become a national, multi-channel retailer of lighting and other home decor products, including rugs, furniture, mirrors, fans, and wall decor. True to its heritage though, the company has remained singularly focus on its curated collection of high-style products and unique lighting designs, many of which are produced in-house by the company's own staff of highly trained artisans. Job Overview Shades of Light is seeking a dynamic Technology Manager to lead our IT Department. This role would be responsible for supervising the technology systems team while managing server integration, cyber security, help desk, and other hardware implementation projects. This role will champion IT projects and maintain strategic vendor partnerships.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Work regularly with the COO on current and future department goals Lead a team of IT professionals through enhanced people management skills, to include work distribution, hiring, and performance management. Conduct regular departmental meetings to maintain team engagement and project synergy within the IT department Document IT processes solutions to establish consistent technology processes for the organization. Support employee movement including onboarding and offboarding Participate in the selection and ongoing management of external vendors. (eg. Backup, Firewall and virus protection, security training, etc.) Coordinate all IT hardware and software purchases. Ensure proper planning and project management for implementation of functional/administrative IT projects.
Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Exceptional problem solving and analytical skills. Effective team leader with a proven track record of successful team and project management. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as part of complex cross-functional project teams. Sound understanding of business strategy with the ability to translate into tactical executable activities.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field 2 Years Experience in leading Technology or IT Teams Experience with SAP Business One or a similar ERP is preferred Experience working in an e-commerce environment is preferred Project Management experience is a plus Experience working with Third Party Solution Providers to include but not limited to, ticketing systems, server integration and transition, and database servers. Hands on technical experience is plus
