Job Description

We are looking for an experienced IT Manager/Director to oversee the stability, security, and ongoing enhancement of technology systems that support both business operations and manufacturing activities in St Johnsbury, Vermont. This Long-term Contract position will serve as the lead IT resource for approximately 85 users across two sites, combining hands-on technical support with project leadership and forward-looking planning. The role is ideal for someone who can manage day-to-day infrastructure needs while guiding improvements that strengthen system performance and user productivity.
Responsibilities:
  • Oversee core business and operational applications to maintain dependable performance and support daily manufacturing and administrative workflows.
  • Manage server, virtualization, Microsoft 365, SQL Server, and network environments to ensure availability, security, and efficient operation.
  • Resolve advanced technical issues involving systems, applications, data, and connectivity, partnering with external providers when deeper escalation is required.
  • Design and maintain reporting solutions and data queries that help teams access accurate information for operational and business decisions.
  • Lead system enhancements, upgrades, and other improvement initiatives from planning through deployment with minimal disruption to users.
  • Maintain backup processes, disaster recovery readiness, monitoring practices, and security controls across the IT environment.
  • Provide high-level support for end-user computing, printing, manufacturing technology, and related business systems across both locations.
  • Guide users on effective use of technology tools and encourage adoption of processes that improve efficiency and consistency.
  • Coordinate with vendors, assess new technology options, and contribute to budgeting and long-range IT planning aligned with business needs.
