Job Description

Robert Half is seeking a hands-on IT Manager to lead and support enterprise technology operations in for our client in Madison, WI. This role combines technical leadership with day-to-day operational support across infrastructure, cybersecurity, networking, ERP systems, end-user support, and business applications.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable balancing strategic IT leadership with direct technical involvement, while leading a small IT team and ensuring high levels of service, accountability, and system reliability.

This is an on-site position supporting a 24/7 business environment.

ResponsibilitiesLead and support day-to-day IT operations, including infrastructure, systems administration, endpoint support, networking, and cybersecurity initiatives.

Provide hands-on technical troubleshooting and serve as the escalation point for complex technical issues.

Manage enterprise technology environments including servers, networks, firewalls, remote access, cloud services, business applications, ERP systems, and collaboration platforms.

Oversee desktop and mobile device support for laptops, desktops, tablets, and mobile devices.

Support and coordinate software deployments, upgrades, configurations, and system integrations across the organization.

Maintain and improve IT security policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure system integrity and minimize operational risk.

Monitor system performance, availability, and reliability while supporting business continuity and disaster recovery planning.

Manage vendor relationships, software licensing, renewals, technology purchasing, and IT asset tracking.

Lead, mentor, and develop IT staff while establishing clear expectations and accountability for service delivery and performance.

Monitor ticket queues, service levels, and operational metrics to ensure timely issue resolution and continuous improvement.

Partner with leadership and cross-functional teams to align technology initiatives with business objectives.

Assist with planning and execution of infrastructure upgrades, system implementations, and technical projects.
