Job Description
Seeking an IT Project Manager to support our client's Release Management Team. The selected candidate will support a highly matrixed agile organization to support quarterly and monthly releases. This position is both inward and outward facing and requires a candidate to be detail-oriented and comfortable working with multiple external clients and internal stakeholders. This requires the ability to convey timely, consistent, and meaningful information and to appropriately adjusts communication style and method based on audience. This role involves effective use of listening skills, ensures that information is understood by the intended audience, takes detailed notes, and habitually sends out meeting minutes. Success in this role would mean managing releases by collaborating with a multitude of teams and reaching consensus in the creation of the deployment schedules, meeting all internal and external milestones, and understanding the interdependency between implementation tasks. This position is (1) contract to permanent, (2) mostly remote but monthly meetings will occur in Wash DC and/or Reston VA office (3) requires three (3) Saturday per year for releases and requires to be working on New Years Day for a benefit related release. Education Level:
Bachelor's DegreeExperience:
Six (6)+ years of IT Project Management Experience with at least 3 years of Release Management experience.- Experience building out schedules for quarterly release implementations, track risks in regard to the release, have the ability understand the changes to systems that are being impacted, etc...
- Experience leading projects in a cross-functional, agile, technical systems release is required. Healthcare Claims, Enrollment Benefit related releases are considered a big plus.
- Strong Communication skills both written and verbal
- Ability to successfully lead in a matrixed agile focused environment
- PMP certification is a plus
