This role serves as the primary technical resource for installation teams, ensuring projects are delivered according to design specifications, company standards, and customer expectations. The Senior AV Technical Project Manager oversees project planning, installation coordination, technical troubleshooting, programming collaboration, quality control, and client communication throughout the project lifecycle. This position works closely with sales, engineering, programming, operations, and field teams to ensure successful project delivery while maintaining exceptional customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate possesses strong commercial AV expertise, leadership capabilities, and the ability to effectively manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Essential ResponsibilitiesProject Leadership & Execution Lead project kickoff meetings with internal teams and customers to review project scope, timelines, responsibilities, and installation expectations. Review project documentation, scopes of work, drawings, and schedules to ensure project readiness. Collaborate with project stakeholders to identify risks, technical challenges, and project requirements prior to installation. Attend subcontractor, owner, architect, and contractor meetings, both virtually and onsite, as required. Maintain clear communication with project managers and leadership regarding project progress, scheduling concerns, technical requirements, and next steps. Installation Operations Coordinate with the Installation Manager to assign technicians and installation teams based on project requirements, schedules, and technical complexity. Conduct onsite walkthroughs before, during, and after installations to verify readiness, monitor progress, and ensure quality standards are achieved. Travel to support projects throughout Florida, including overnight travel to Orlando, Tampa, and other regional job sites as necessary. Verify installations comply with approved designs, manufacturer specifications, and company standards. Support project closeout activities, punch list completion, and final client acceptance. Technical Leadership Serve as the primary technical resource for installation teams regarding AV system design intent, integration challenges, and field questions. Troubleshoot installation issues, equipment integration concerns, and technical challenges encountered during project execution. Provide guidance related to audio, video, control systems, networking, conferencing, and AV best practices. Coordinate and lead programming discussions involving clients, programmers, vendors, and internal stakeholders. Assist with commissioning activities and ensure systems function as designed prior to turnover. Estimating & Project Support Prepare labor estimates, project projections, and technical recommendations when supporting proposal development. Review proposed system designs to identify installation considerations and resource requirements. Submit permitting documentation and coordinate permitting activities as required. Coordinate service calls and support escalated technical issues following project completion. Recommend process improvements that enhance operational efficiency and project execution. QualificationsRequired Minimum of 5 years of experience managing commercial AV installation projects. Strong knowledge of commercial AV systems, including audio, video, control, networking, conferencing, and collaboration technologies. Demonstrated experience leading field teams and coordinating multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to read and interpret AV drawings, scopes of work, schematics, and construction documents. Excellent troubleshooting and technical problem-solving abilities. Strong communication and customer relationship management skills. Experience coordinating programming, commissioning, and project closeout activities. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and Teams. Familiarity with Asana and NetSuite or similar project management platforms. Valid driver's license and willingness to travel throughout Florida, including overnight stays when required. Must be eligible to successfully obtain and maintain Level 2 background clearances, fingerprinting requirements, and school district badges required to access K-12 educational facilities throughout the State of Florida. Preferred CTS certification preferred; CTS-I strongly preferred. Additional certifications such as Q-SYS, Crestron, Extron, Biamp, Dante, Shure, or manufacturer certifications are highly desirable. Experience with Autodesk, Procore, BuildingConnected, Bluebeam, or similar construction management platforms. Experience working in K-12, higher education, government, healthcare, or other commercial construction environments. OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred.
