This initiative spans technology, data analytics, artificial intelligence, and application development, with multiple workstreams already in motion. This role will provide hands-on technical project management and executive-facing engagement leadership for a high-visibility government workforce initiative, helping keep complex workstreams, agency stakeholders, and aggressive delivery timelines aligned. About the Role The Engagement Director / Senior Technical Project Manager will support a complex, high-priority initiative for a government client. This role is ideal for a seasoned technical project manager who brings strong schedule management, delivery coordination, and stakeholder communication skills, along with the professionalism needed to work directly with state agency leaders. This position will help organize and drive work across multiple workstreams involving AI, data analytics, application development, and workforce technology. The initiative spans multiple agencies and requires someone who can quickly understand the current project landscape, build and manage a detailed project schedule, coordinate across teams, and provide clear updates to executive stakeholders. The project is already in flight, so the successful candidate must be available to start immediately and be comfortable stepping into a fast-moving onsite environment where tactical project management, follow-through, and executive-ready communication are all critical to success. What You'll Do Technical Project Management & Schedule Leadership Bring structure, discipline, and forward momentum to complex technology and data workstreams. Develop, manage, and drive a complex project schedule across multiple aggressive delivery deadlines. Coordinate technical project activities related to AI, data analytics, application development, and workforce systems. Track milestones, dependencies, risks, issues, and decisions to support timely execution. Maintain clear project plans, schedules, status updates, and follow-up actions. Help ensure delivery teams stay aligned on priorities, timelines, and next steps. Executive Stakeholder Coordination Keep agency leaders informed, aligned, and equipped to make timely decisions. Manage communications with executive stakeholders across multiple state agencies. Translate technical project activity into clear, executive-ready updates. Prepare and support status discussions, decision points, and escalation conversations. Identify risks, blockers, or competing priorities that may affect delivery. Maintain a highly professional presence in meetings with agency leadership, delivery teams, and partner stakeholders. Cross-Agency Delivery Support Coordinate across teams, agencies, and workstreams to support an active workforce modernization initiative. Support alignment across multiple agency stakeholders and delivery teams. Coordinate workstreams connected to technology, data, analytics, AI, and development. Build strong working relationships with internal teams, agency partners, and vendor or delivery resources. Help clarify ownership, timelines, and deliverables across a complex project environment. Maintain momentum across near-term deadlines while supporting the broader strategic initiative. Project Mobilization & Immediate Execution Step into an active initiative and quickly provide organization, delivery focus, and practical leadership. Rapidly assess current project status, schedule needs, workstream dependencies, and delivery risks. Establish or refine project management rhythms, tools, and reporting structures as needed. Support immediate project priorities while maintaining visibility into longer-term roadmap needs. Operate with urgency, adaptability, and strong follow-through from day one.
