RESPONSIBILITIES
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Technical Program Manager in Wilmington, MA.Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Technical Program Manager, Engineering Operations to oversee and execute complex, cross-functional engineering initiatives. This role partners closely with senior engineering leadership to drive operational excellence across software, hardware, IT, DevOps, robotics, and automation teams. Responsibilities include managing workload prioritization, defining and tracking sprints, and ensuring adherence to development and delivery processes. The TPM will oversee change management activities, validate testing quality, and ensure readiness for production deployments. Post-production audits will be led to confirm system performance against technical, operational, and site-level metrics. This role coordinates root-cause analysis and corrective actions for production issues or site downtime, working with engineering leads to drive issues to closure and support adoption of new features and updates. Ownership of execution hygiene is critical, including ensuring work tickets are clearly defined, prioritized, executed, and closed with accountability. The TPM facilitates cross-functional communication, regularly reporting program status, risks, and KPIs to leadership. They proactively identify technical and delivery risks, help teams navigate ambiguity, and foster a culture of transparency, speed, and continuous improvement. The role requires influencing and motivating distributed engineering teams while continuously improving internal processes, standards, and ways of working to increase efficiency and alignment.REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field
- 8+ years of professional experience, including 5+ years in technical program or project management
- Experience coordinating large, multi-disciplinary engineering organizations (50+ contributors)
- Strong understanding of full product development lifecycle from concept through deployment and support
- Proven ability to manage complex programs across software, hardware, IT, automation, robotics, or AI/ML domains
- Deep experience with Agile methodologies, sprint planning, release management, risk identification, and scope control
- Advanced proficiency with project tracking and data tools (e.g., Jira; Reporting and visualization platforms)
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize data and present insights at the executive level
- Experience driving issue resolution through root-cause analysis and structured problem-solving methods
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
- Comfort operating in fast-paced, high-growth environments with evolving priorities and ambiguity
- Ability to build strong cross-functional partnerships and lead meetings toward actionable outcomes
- Advanced degree or PMP certification is a plus
- Experience writing SQL queries is a plus
- Background in robotics, automation, industrial systems, high-tech manufacturing, or rapid-growth technology environments is a plus The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role.
