Job Description

IT Project Manager (Contract - 12 Months)

Minneapolis, MN (Hybrid/Onsite preferred)
Duration:
12-month contract (with possible extension)
Rate:
$40-55/hour depending on experience Position Overview We are seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to lead and deliver technology initiatives supporting a manufacturing environment. This role will oversee cross-functional projects involving enterprise systems, infrastructure, and operational technologies, ensuring alignment with business goals, timelines, and budgets. The ideal candidate has a strong background managing IT projects in manufacturing or industrial settings , with experience coordinating between IT, engineering, operations, and business stakeholders. This is a 12-month contract with the possibility of extension. The hourly rate is $40-55/hour depending on experience. Candidates must be local to the Twin Cities, MN area. This is a W2 role and will not be available on C2C or via third parties. Key Responsibilities Lead end-to-end execution of IT projects, including planning, execution, monitoring, and delivery Collaborate with business stakeholders, plant operations, and technical teams to define project scope, goals, and deliverables Manage project timelines, budgets, resource allocation, and risk mitigation strategies Facilitate cross-functional communication between IT, manufacturing, supply chain, and leadership teams Drive project governance, status reporting, and stakeholder updates Identify and manage dependencies across multiple initiatives Ensure alignment with organizational priorities and compliance standards Track and report on project KPIs, milestones, and outcomes Lead vendor coordination and oversee third-party deliverables when applicable Promote best practices in project management, including Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid approaches Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience) 5+ years of experience managing IT projects Experience working within a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, hybrid) Experience with enterprise systems such as ERP Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, Jira) PMP, Scrum Master, or other project management certification preferred, but not required All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, national origin, age, ancestry, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, marital status, disability, medical condition, genetic information, pregnancy, or military or veteran status.
