Position Summary:
The Global Application Engineering Manager leads the Application Engineering Lab team across all Miraclon technology platforms. This role is responsible for driving technical excellence in support of new product introductions (NPI), enhancing customer-facing engineering capabilities, and aligning application engineering strategies with market needs and business priorities. This leader plays a critical role in connecting R D innovation with commercial execution, ensuring that products are effectively developed, supported, and positioned for success in the market.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and develop the Global Application Engineering Lab team across all Miraclon technology platforms Drive engineering support activities to enable successful New Product Introductions (NPI) in close partnership with R D Develop and maintain a competitive technical intelligence program to inform product and market strategy Utilize market insights and customer analytics to contribute to technology roadmap development Define, track, and optimize KPIs to measure success across innovation and customer support initiatives Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of application engineering programs Oversee the creation of high-quality product support materials, including: Customer training (on-site and virtual) Webinars and technical presentations Documentation and knowledge resources Digital tools and enablement platforms Leverage customer feedback to inform global and regional priorities and strengthen value-based selling Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Service, IT, Marketing, Operations, and R D to deliver integrated solutions Partner with external vendors, channel partners, and industry stakeholders to identify opportunities and define technical requirements Qualifications Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, or a related technical field required Advanced degree preferred 10+ years of relevant industry experience Experience in the graphic arts or printing industry preferred, but not required 5+ Years of people leadership experience Skills & Competencies Strong background in: Engineering product development Technical customer support Market and competitive analysis Technical sales and business analytics Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence across a global organization Hands-on, collaborative leadership style with strong relationship-building skills Excellent communication and technical writing capabilities Proficiency in Microsoft Office and statistical analysis tools (e.g., Minitab, JMP) Additional Requirements Ability to travel approximately 10-25%, primarily domestic travel with some international travel
