Job Description

Under general direction of the VP of Applications and Digital Product Development, the Director of Clinical Applications is responsible for leading the strategy, implementation, optimization, and support of the Epic electronic health record (EHR) and other clinical and revenue cycle applications, services, resources, reports and integrated applications across Mosaic Life Care. This role ensures that clinical technologies align with organizational goals and drive improved outcomes, end user experience, and operational efficiency. The Director works closely with clinical, financial, and operational stakeholders to support the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care through well-governed, integrated, and innovative applications solutions. The Director contributes to application governance, change control processes, optimization initiatives, and value realization strategies that enhance the effectiveness of care delivery and revenue integrity. The Director oversees teams responsible for clinical and revenue cycle applications, ensuring the design, maintenance, and performance of these systems meet the needs of users and support enterprise growth and transformation. Drive alignment of the clinical and revenue cycle systems with the applications strategy, roadmap, and broader organizational goals and objectives. Collaborate with clinical and operational leadership to identify and deliver technology solutions that improve patient care, financial performance, and caregiver experience. Participate in enterprise IT governance, including Epic Change Control, to ensure coordinated planning, prioritization, and communication of initiatives. Represent clinical and revenue cycle applications in governance forums, steering committees, and strategic planning. Identify areas of inefficiency or underutilization within active application portfolio and drive optimization strategies (ex. Epic Gold Stars, Honor Roll, etc.) to maximize value from for improved caregiver and/or patient experience, quality, and/or financial performance. Assess and adopt Epic features, emerging technologies, and industry best practices to continuously improve performance and value realization. Lead and develop multiple applications teams responsible for configuration, support, and enhancement of Epic and other clinical and revenue cycle systems to ensure business standards and service levels are met. Establish team goals, metrics, and performance expectations for teams within areas of responsibility, ensuring alignment to department priorities. Provide regular coaching, feedback, and development planning for team members to foster growth and accountability. Ensure project timelines, deliverables, and budgets are effectively managed across initiatives. Oversee the design, build, testing, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of Epic and other clinical and revenue cycle systems. Manage the full application lifecycle including upgrades, enhancements, and system integrations. Ensure application documentation, compliance standards, and data governance policies are upheld. Serve as a trusted partner to clinicians, operational leaders, and IT peers in advancing strategic and operational goals and objectives. Lead or support service delivery including cross-functional projects, process improvement initiatives, and system standardization efforts and ensure business standards are achieved, as well as identifying cross-functional impacts and areas of potential risk management. Facilitate communication and change management strategies that promote adoption, collaboration, and system-wide alignment. Education Bachelor's Degree
  • in field of computer science or related field, information systems, health informatics, or a related field or equivalent experience
  • Required Work Experience 5 Years
  • Progressive experience supporting Epic applications
  • Required Proven success in leading application teams within a complex healthcare setting
  • Required Experience with systems design and development from business requirements analysis through to day-to-day management. Good understanding of computer systems
  • Required Proven experience in IT planning, organization, and development, including budget development and accountability
  • Preferred Organizational skills, along with attention to detail, and the ability to achieve deadlines in a complex, dynamic environment
  • Preferred Substantial exposure to enterprise software applications and outsourced systems, including cloud based applications/systems
  • Preferred Proven leadership ability and ability to set and manage priorities judiciously
