Senior Program Manager - SAP transformation

SAP Program Finance & Controls Lead Location:

Newark, NJ (3 days a week onsite) We are looking for a senior SAP Program Finance & Controls Lead to drive financial governance, cost control, and program oversight across large SAP transformation initiatives. This is not a traditional PM role the candidate will act as a strategic right-hand to program leadership, ensuring financial discipline, program stability, and proactive risk management.

Responsibilities:

Own end-to-end program financial management including budgeting, forecasting, and cost tracking Manage cost control and cost volatility, ensuring financial predictability across the program Conduct internal cost audits and ensure adherence to financial governance standards Apply Earned Value Management (EVM) including CPI, SPI, ETC, and EAC metrics Establish and manage program controls framework and financial governance processes Align financial plans with program schedules and delivery milestones Oversee Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) and understand financial impact of schedule changes Perform variance analysis (actual vs plan) and provide forecast insights Lead risk and opportunity management with focus on financial and delivery impact Drive executive reporting, dashboards, and governance cadence Act as a trusted advisor to program leadership, enabling data-driven decision-making

Requirements:

12+ years of experience in SAP programs / Program Finance / Program Controls / PMO Finance Strong expertise in cost management, budgeting, forecasting, and financial governance Hands-on experience with Earned Value Management (EVM), CPI, SPI, ETC, EAC Experience in large-scale SAP transformations (S/4HANA preferred) Strong understanding of Program Controls, Governance, and Financial Planning Experience working with Integrated Master Schedules (IMS), Primavera P6, or MS Project Proven ability to manage financial risks, cost audits, and variance analysis Experience working with senior stakeholders and leadership teams Ability to manage multiple high-visibility programs and vendors
