Dam Manager (Senior-Level Geotechnical Leadership)

Associates is working with a well-established, highly reputable engineering firm known for its technical excellence and long-standing presence in infrastructure and water resources projects across the Northeast. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a Dam Manaer and Senior Engineer to lead and expand their dam engineering capabilities. Key Responsibilities Lead the delivery of dam engineering projects, including inspections, safety evaluations, and rehabilitation or removal design Conduct and oversee field investigations and geotechnical assessments, including subsurface exploration and soil/bedrock analysis Manage multidisciplinary project teams, providing technical guidance and mentoring more junior engineers Prepare and review engineering reports, design calculations, specifications, and contract documents Take ownership of project performance, including schedules, budgets, and client deliverables Support the development of proposals, including scope, staffing, and cost estimates for new work Act as a client-facing lead, attending meetings, presentations, and supporting ongoing relationship management Contribute to business development efforts and represent the firm within the industry and wider community What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in Civil, Geotechnical, or related Engineering discipline (Master's preferred) Approximately 10+ years of experience within dam engineering, with strong exposure to inspection, evaluation, and design of water retention structures Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) required, with the ability to take technical ownership of projects Demonstrated experience managing projects end-to-end, including overseeing budgets, schedules, and multidisciplinary teams Comfortable leading technical workstreams, including geotechnical analysis, design development, and preparation of engineering documentation Strong client-facing skills, with experience supporting proposals, attending interviews, and contributing to business development activities Proactive, detail-oriented individual with strong communication skills and a collaborative, mentor-led approach to team development Familiarity with industry-standard engineering tools and a commitment to staying current with evolving best practices and technologies Why Consider This Role Hybrid structure with flexibility and strong work-life balance Clear pathway into senior leadership Opportunity to shape and grow a key technical practice area Join a highly reputable firm with a strong pipeline of dam and infrastructure work This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced engineer looking to step into a leadership role while remaining technically engaged on impactful projects.
