IDEAYA Biosciences is seeking a Director, Enterprise Applications, IT (Commercial Systems) to lead the strategy, delivery, and operations of the Commercial IT applications and data ecosystem. This role is responsible for enabling scalable, compliant, and insight-driven technology solutions supporting Commercial Operations, Sales, Marketing, Market Access, and Medical Affairs across the full commercialization lifecycle. The Director will serve as the primary IT Business partner to Commercial leadership, translating business strategy into enterprise technology roadmaps and delivering integrated systems including CRM, Commercial Data Warehouse, Master Data Management, and advanced analytics platforms. This role will ensure systems are designed for launch readiness, operational excellence, and long-term scalability to support IDEAYA's transition and growth as a commercial-stage biotechnology company. This position is based in our South San Francisco headquarters and requires onsite presence four days per week per company policy. Reporting to:
Sr. Director, Enterprise Applications and IT Compliance Job Description What you'll do: Lead the end-to-end strategy, design, implementation, and operations of the Commercial IT application and data ecosystem, including CRM, Commercial Data Warehouse, Master Data Management, and analytics platforms. Translate Commercial and Medical Affairs business priorities into scalable, compliant, and actionable technology solutions aligned to commercialization strategy. Partner closely to define technology roadmaps aligned with business objectives, governance, KPIs, and success metrics. Own the delivery of integrated commercial systems supporting Sales, Marketing, Market Access, and Medical Affairs, ensuring launch readiness and post-launch scalability. Serve as the key interface between Commercial applications and enterprise data/analytics platforms to ensure consistent, trusted, and actionable insights. Drive end-to-end execution of system implementations, integrations, and enhancements across CRM, data warehouse, MDM, and reporting environments. Oversee vendor and service provider ecosystems, managing delivery performance, accountability, and financial outcomes across all Commercial IT initiatives. Develop and manage IT budgets, forecasts, and investment cases for Commercial IT initiatives. Provide executive-level communication on program status, risks, dependencies, and decisions. Build and lead high-performing teams, including internal staff and external partners/MSP's. Continuously assess industry trends and emerging technologies across AI, data platforms, and digital commercial ecosystems to drive innovation and improve Commercial IT capabilities. Embed governance, compliance, and regulatory requirements (SOX, HIPAA, CFR 21 Part 11, Sunshine Act) into all system design and operations. Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in information systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred. 12-15 years of progressive IT experience, including 10+ years in leadership roles. Strong experience in Commercial IT environments, preferably in pre-launch, launch, and post-launch phases. Proven expertise in CRM (e.g., Salesforce/Veeva), Commercial Data Warehouse, MDM, reporting, and analytics platforms. Deep understanding of Commercial pharmaceutical processes across Sales, Marketing, Market Access, and Medical Affairs. Management experience in Commercial IT and Data Warehouse/Reporting. Experience with integrated platforms leveraging Veeva CRM, Informatica, Snowflake, Databricks, along with advanced analytics and AI/ML capabilities. Strong knowledge of regulated environments including SOX, HIPAA, CFR 21
Part 11, and related compliance frameworks. Demonstrated success leading high performance IT teams, managing vendors, and delivering enterprise-scale programs. Strong understanding of cloud architecture, integration frameworks, and data platforms. Hands-on leadership style with strong analytical thinking, judgment, and execution capability. The expected salary range for the role of Director, Enterprise Applications, IT (Commercial) is $209,000 - $258,000. The final salary offered to a successful candidate will depend on several factors that may include but are not limited to the office location where this open position is located, the final candidates' experience within their profession, experience in the disease areas we are striving to make an impact in as a company, length of time within the industry, educational background, and performance during the interview process.
