job summary: A premier AM Law 200 global law firm is seeking an experienced Applications Manager to lead the strategic optimization, delivery lifecycle, and support of our enterprise business applications portfolio. In this role, you will bridge the gap between technical execution and strategic vision, ensuring our software solutions are secure, scalable, and beautifully optimized for end-user experience. This is a 100% remote direct-hire position (must reside near a state with an established office footprint) with minimal travel required. Greenville, South Carolina job type: Permanent salary: $130,000 - 180,000 per year work hours: 9am to 5pm education: Bachelors responsibilities: Direct a talented, collaborative team of application analysts and engineers distributed across multiple regions, guiding day-to-day operations and skill development. Formulate and execute a long-term enterprise software roadmap, championing modern cloud migrations and seamless feature adoption. Oversee the complete lifecycle governance, configuration, and day-to-day systems administration of core legal, HR, and financial enterprise applications. Serve as both a hands-on technical lead and a strategic project manager, managing internal technical resources, cross-functional dependencies, and third-party vendors. Collaborate cross-departmentally with superusers and business units to gather functional requirements, translate technical jargon, and ensure optimal configurations. Monitor, troubleshoot, and patch custom or cloud-hosted ecosystems to guarantee 24x7 high availability and performance. Align all application changes and upgrades with modern IT governance, security standards, and robust disaster recovery frameworks.
qualifications:
Must-Haves 10+ years of progressive experience working with enterprise-level software, ecosystems, and architectures. 3+ years of direct experience supervising or managing a technical team. Proven experience working within a law-firm environment or supporting legal-centric application suites (AM Law 100-200 preferred). Direct hands-on administration and oversight experience with iManage DMS. Demonstrated experience interfacing with enterprise Finance (e.g., Aderant or Elite) and HRIS teams (e.g., UKG/Ultipro). Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills with a proven track record of career stability (no patterns of short-term job-hopping). Four-year degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
