ITD Planning PM PMP Location(s): Mechanicsville, VA (Hybrid - onsite 2-3 days/week required)Short Description:
Senior IT Project Manager responsible for leading and deliveringplex enterprise technology projects with multiple teams and aggressive delivery timelines. PMP certification from PMI or VITA PM certification is mandatory.Job Description:
Seeking an experienced Project Manager to leadplex IT initiatives within a large enterprise environment. The role requires managing cross-functional teams, coordinating technical and business resources, overseeing project governance, and ensuring successful delivery through all project lifecycle phases including initiation, planning, execution, control, and closeout.Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manageplex IT projects with multiple workstreams and stakeholders Coordinate activities between technical teams, business units, vendors, consultants, and contractors Manage project scope, schedule, budget, risks, issues, and deliverables Develop and maintain project plans, status reports, metrics, andmunication plans Facilitate requirements gathering sessions, design workshops, and project meetings Ensurepletion of documentation, testing plans, use cases, and project artifacts Ad to established PMO governance, standards, and methodologies Support application rollout, user training, and transition activities Communicate project timelines, expectations, and status updates to leadership and stakeholders Utilize Agile and Waterfall methodologies based on project needsRequired Skills & Experience:
Active PMP certification through PMI or VITA PM certification required Strong experience managing enterprise-level IT projects Experience with Agile and Waterfall project management methodologies Experience with Microsoft Project, SharePoint, and Microsoft Office Suite Strong understanding of SDLC, system analysis, testing, and implementation Ability to analyze requirements and translate them into technical solutions Excellentmunication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills Experience managing budgets, schedules, risks, and project reporting Knowledge of data modeling and interface management tools Ability to create reports using standard IT application toolsPreferred Skills:
Agile Scrum Master certification Prior experience working with Virginia state agencies or transportation IT environmentsEducation:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field preferredAdditional Information:
Finger-based background check required Only PMP certification from PMI or PM certification from VITA will be acceptedSkills:
Skill Required / Desired Amount of Experience Current Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute (PMI) Required 10 Years Candidate must have a minimum of 15 years experience managing large projects Required 15 Years Solid understanding of software development life cycle models as well as expert knowledge of both Agile and Waterfall project management principles. Required 5 Years Balance business/technical background with sufficient level of technical background to provide highly credible leadership to technology teams. Nice to have 3 Years Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Visio, PowerPoint, Project Server) Required 5 Years Bachelor Degree Required Ampcus is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
