Job Description

Job Title:
Sr. Agile Delivery Lead Job Description This role leads agile delivery for highly technical engineering teams working on a vehicle data platform and backend services in a complex global environment. The Sr. Agile Delivery Lead applies deep agile and program delivery expertise to support teams operating against fixed, time-driven milestones while maintaining agile principles. The position focuses on enabling effective Scrum practices, coordinating milestone and vehicle program reporting, and aligning agile ways of working with longer, waterfall-like programs. The role partners closely with global counterparts, including teams in Japan, to translate specifications into actionable user stories, support cross-functional collaboration, and ensure on-time delivery of backend, cloud-based solutions. Responsibilities Support multiple highly technical engineering teams working on vehicle data platform and backend products, ensuring they deliver against time-bound milestones while maintaining agile practices. Facilitate Scrum events such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives, and provide Scrum Master support when requested by the teams. Help grow a collaborative, continuously improving engineering culture by modeling agile values and principles and encouraging transparency and experimentation. Coach teams and leadership on Scrum, agile principles, and modern software development practices, tailoring guidance to a complex global delivery environment. Partner with product managers and technical leads to prioritize work, refine detailed requirements, and translate them into clear user stories that engineering teams can implement. Coordinate closely with global partners, including teams in Japan, to receive specifications, clarify requirements, and support quarterly development cycles. Support milestone reporting, vehicle program reporting, and other delivery tracking activities, aligning agile and fast-paced approaches with longer, waterfall-style programs. Troubleshoot delivery issues by coordinating with global counterparts, understanding technical constraints, and driving resolution of impediments that impact delivery. Engage with technical architecture, CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes, EKS, and other tooling and infrastructure changes to understand their impact on delivery and to support informed decision-making. Analyze the technical stack and historical challenges to identify patterns that have slowed teams down and propose improvements to increase flow and reliability. Advocate for modern agile software development and organizational practices such as XP, CI/CD, DevOps, and TDD, and help teams adopt these practices effectively. Serve as an example of agile values, teaching and reinforcing Scrum principles while providing constructive feedback to individuals and teams. Deliver effective conflict resolution between individuals and teams, helping to maintain a healthy and productive working environment. Use strong visualization skills to create and explain visual radiators that communicate status, risks, and progress to stakeholders. Help individuals, teams, and programs clarify goals and define actionable steps to achieve them, ensuring alignment with broader program objectives. Develop and implement effective methods and practices for managing and resolving impediments that block team progress. Coach and support others in backlog creation, management, and refinement, ensuring that product backlogs are well-organized, prioritized, and ready for development. Demonstrate effective techniques for managing team interruptions and protecting teams during sprints to preserve focus and predictability. Work beyond individual team boundaries to improve overall efficiencies, flow of work, and value delivered across multiple teams and programs. Proactively partner with product leadership to create multi-team estimates, realistic roadmaps, and delivery plans that reflect technical realities and dependencies. Lead reporting on delivery progress, risks, and issues, and drive escalation and resolution across areas and departments when needed. Maintain accountability for end-to-end delivery visibility, including timeline development, risk identification and mitigation, and cross-team dependency mapping. Explain the differences between various Scrum scaling frameworks and approaches, and guide stakeholders in selecting and adapting appropriate scaling patterns. Provide scaling expertise to align multiple agile teams, facilitate large-group planning sessions, and coach Chief Product Owners and Product Owners on managing scaled backlogs of epics and features. Facilitate complex technical discussions across global engineering and product teams, driving clarity, alignment, and actionable outcomes. Apply deep system-level thinking to understand overall program dynamics and influence them positively through process, communication, and structural improvements. Operate as a self-starter who proactively identifies opportunities to improve team delivery and implements changes without waiting for direction. Support teams working with APIs, architecture, environment creation, and testing, ensuring technical workstreams are integrated into delivery plans. Engage in team-level and higher-level discussions to align strategy, priorities, and execution across multiple agile teams. Support a second team focused on video ingest, ensuring their agile events, planning, and delivery practices are effective and aligned with overall program objectives. Essential Skills Deep knowledge of Agile methodologies beyond Scrum, including the ability to apply agile practices flexibly in environments driven by fixed milestones and delivery timelines. At least 5+ years of experience working in an Agile Delivery Lead or similar role supporting software development teams. Strong hands-on development experience or substantial experience working directly with software development teams, providing credible guidance and empathy for developer challenges. Proven experience supporting highly technical engineering teams, particularly in backend and platform-oriented environments. Strong understanding of Scrum principles, agile coaching techniques, and the ability to teach and model agile values and behaviors. Experience working with technical workstreams such as APIs, system architecture, environment creation, and testing. Ability to quickly understand and interpret technical discussions, architecture diagrams, system architectures, and CI/CD pipelines to drive informed delivery decisions. Core problem-solving and technical aptitude, including the ability to read an architecture diagram and ask insightful questions to deepen understanding. Experience with modern software development practices including XP, CI/CD, DevOps, and TDD. Practical experience with Scrum scaling frameworks and scaled agile coordination across multiple teams. Demonstrated system-level thinking and proactive problem-solving abilities, particularly in complex, multi-team environments. leadership and technical stakeholders.
