Job Description

Grow your career as a Technical Project Manager with an innovative global bank in Irving, TX. Contract role with strong possibility of extension. Contract Duration:
6+ Months Required Skills & Experience Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field. 5-10 years of direct experience in technical project management, managing software development or infrastructure projects. Strong understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and various project management methodologies, including Agile (Scrum, Kanban) and Waterfall. Proven experience managing projects from conception to completion, including managing scope, schedule, budget, and risk. Proficiency with project management software, such as Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Project, or similar tools. Excellent leadership, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Desired Skills & Experience Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), or other relevant project management certifications. Experience managing projects in a cloud environment (AWS, Azure, GCP). Hands-on experience in a software development or engineering role prior to moving into project management. Experience in the financial services or banking industry. Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects effectively.
What You Will Be Doing Project Planning and Execution:
Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders. Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, budgets, and risk management strategies. Lead the day-to-day execution of project tasks, ensuring that project teams are on track to meet milestones.
Team and Stakeholder Management:
Lead and motivate cross-functional teams of engineers, developers, and other technical staff. Serve as the primary point of contact for all project-related communications, effectively managing stakeholder expectations. Facilitate project meetings, including kick-offs, daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives. Translate technical concepts and project status into clear, concise updates for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Technical Oversight and Risk Management:
Maintain a solid understanding of the project's technical architecture, challenges, and dependencies. Work with technical leads to identify and resolve technical roadblocks and challenges. Proactively identify, track, and mitigate project risks and issues, developing contingency plans as needed. Ensure that the final deliverables meet the required quality standards and technical specifications.
Process and Reporting:
Track project performance using appropriate tools and techniques, providing regular reports on scope, schedule, and budget. Manage changes to the project scope, schedule, and costs using appropriate verification techniques. Conduct post-project evaluations and create a recommendations report to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements
