Technical Project Manager Contract (6 months to start - potential for extension or FTE conversion) Universal City, CA (4 days onsite, 1 day remote) We are seeking a Technical Project Manager to join the PMO team at a Fortune Broadcast Media & Entertainment organization, supporting a high-performing group of program and project managers delivering world-class streaming and entertainment products. In this role, you will lead a cross-functional team of 10+ engineers and QA testers through complex, concurrent technical deliveries - driving seamless launches, improving backend and client team processes, and ensuring projects are completed on schedule. This is a fast-paced, high-accountability role for someone who thrives in ambiguity, sees the critical path clearly, and knows how to bring structure, clarity, and momentum to large-scale technical initiatives. Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience. Minimum 3-4 years of Project Management experience in technology and software development, working directly with engineering and product teams. Proven track record of successfully delivering and managing technical projects, particularly in streaming, OTT, and CMS environments. 3+ years of hands-on experience with the Atlassian suite (Jira, Confluence, etc.). Advanced proficiency with project scheduling tools such as Smartsheet or equivalent. Strong working knowledge of SDLC methodologies including Agile/Scrum, Kanban, and Waterfall. Scrum Master certification preferred; Project Manager certification preferred; Product Owner certification is a plus. Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills - comfortable escalating issues and setting expectations across technical and non-technical audiences. Responsibilities:
Lead a cross-functional team of 10+ engineers and QA testers through concurrent technical deliveries, ensuring seamless and on-schedule launches. Facilitate and oversee the development process using SDLC methodologies (Agile/Scrum, Kanban, Waterfall), maintaining rigor and uniformity across large cross-functional projects. Build and maintain well-organized, accessible project plans, documentation, meeting notes, playbooks, and how-to guides to keep all stakeholders aligned. Proactively identify gaps, anticipate risks, and assess root causes and consequences of issues - connecting technical and non-technical parties to facilitate solutions. Set and manage expectations around process and outcomes; navigate changes with confidence and escalate technical and non-technical issues appropriately. Communicate regularly and clearly with all project stakeholders to ensure projects stay on track and decisions are made with the right context. Build strong relationships with peer teams to effectively influence project priority and delivery outcomes. Continually evolve processes and documentation to improve efficiency across backend and client teams. Approach work with curiosity and a user-first perspective, making sound decisions in ambiguous situations and pivoting when needed. What's in it for you?
