Technical Project Manager (Hybrid PM / Ruby on Rails Developer) Remote

The Role We are looking for a Technical Project Manager who isn't afraid to open a PR. You will be the "force multiplier" for our lead pipeline—acting as the bridge between high-level strategy and our Ruby on Rails codebase. This is a hands-on role where you will balance project oversight, roadmap planning, and active development. We have a Lead Architect in place, but as our data requirements grow, we need a leader who can manage the workflow and jump in to optimize queries, refine data mappers, or troubleshoot background jobs.

What You'll Be Doing Dual-Track Execution:

Spend roughly 60% of your time on project management (standups, documentation, ClickUp management) and 40% on hands-on Rails development and code reviews.

Pipeline Orchestration:

Own the roadmap for data ingestion. You'll ensure new data sources (extracted via Playwright/Nokogiri) are mapped correctly and oversee the "plumbing" that turns raw data into high-value leads.

System Reliability:

Monitor GoodJob queues and PostgreSQL performance. You'll be responsible for ensuring our background processing stays performant and database connections are managed efficiently.

Data Integrity & Tools:

Oversee normalization logic using tools like phonelib and manage document generation (PDFs via Prawn) for law firm clients.

Process Optimization:

Turn messy requirements into clean, actionable technical tasks in ClickUp to keep the engineering team moving. Job Requirements What We're Looking For The "Hybrid"

Skillset:

You are a seasoned Ruby on Rails developer (Rails 7.1+) who has shifted into (or has a talent for) project management.

Deep Rails Knowledge:

Comfortable with PostgreSQL, complex data mapping, and background job management (specifically GoodJob). Experience with

Data Extraction:

Familiarity with web scraping/automation tools like Playwright, Ferrum, or Nokogiri.

Autonomous Leader:

Capable of taking a technical blueprint and executing with high autonomy in a remote environment.

High-Level Communication:

Fluent spoken and written English is essential for daily alignment (06:00 - 16:00 Eastern U.S. Time).
