  • TTP is seeking a Subject Matter Expert (SME) / Project Manager to support power generation facilities by managing the execution of P&ID walkdowns.
This role serves as the primary interface between Field Engineers and the CAD team, ensuring that field sketches, redlines, and documentation are technically sound, complete, and translated accurately into final P&ID deliverables. The Project Manager is responsible for technical review, coordination, scheduling, and quality control of P&ID updates for operating power plants. This is a W-2, exempt employee position supporting a specific project. We are hiring immediately, with an anticipated duration through December 2026 and the possibility of extension based on project or company needs. Due to the project schedule and deliverable timelines, the typical workload is approximately 40 hours per week, with periods where weekly hours may increase to as much as 60 hours depending on project phase and site needs. Preference will be given to candidates located in Mississippi or nearby states , or in states where we currently employ remote staff (AZ, AL, CO, CA, FL, GA, IL, MS, NE, NJ, PA, VT, WA).
  • Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between the Field Engineer and the CAD team.
Review field sketches, redlines, and walkdown documentation for clarity, completeness, and technical accuracy prior to CAD development. Ensure field markups are consistent with P&ID standards, symbology, and plant drafting requirements. Coordinate the flow of work from field walkdowns through CAD development and final P&ID issuance. Resolve technical questions between field personnel and CAD developers related to piping, instrumentation, equipment, and process flow. Track project schedules, deliverables, and progress for assigned P&ID update projects. Prioritize systems, units, and drawings based on project scope, plant priorities, and outage schedules. Perform QA/QC reviews of updated P&IDs to verify accurate incorporation of field conditions. Coordinate with plant engineering, operations, and maintenance to resolve discrepancies or unclear field conditions. Communicate project status, risks, and issues to internal leadership and clients.
  • Qualifications
  • Required Strong working knowledge of power plant systems, piping, valves, instrumentation, and process flow.
Demonstrated ability to review and interpret P&IDs, field sketches, redlines, and engineering documentation. Experience coordinating between cross functional teams. Strong organizational and project coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple systems or projects simultaneously. High attention to detail with a focus on technical accuracy and quality. Strong written and verbal communication skills for interaction with field staff, CAD teams, and plant stakeholders. Ability to manage multiple walkdowns, systems, or projects simultaneously. Familiarity with drafting standards, P&ID symbology, and document control processes.
  • Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field with three years of technical writing experience or five years of relevant technical experience.
Minimum of five years hands-on experience in operations, maintenance, and/or related training in fossil, nuclear, renewable, or combined-cycle power plants. Technical background in plant operations and or maintenance; equipment experience should be power plant (conventional Rankine Cycle, Nuclear, Gas-Fired, Combined Cycle, and Renewable).
  • Physical Requirements
  • May require up to 25% travel.
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
