Full Job Description Position Description:
District Manager The District Manager is the "Superman" or "Superwoman" of the team. They provide unequalled leadership, share the vision of what can and should be, inspire and lift their employees to perform at a higher level, and show their team how to provide the campground guests an unforgettable, positive "customer experience". The manager helps to recruit additional talented employees. They also work with Human Resources and their own Permit Manager to review and interview applicants and make recommendations to hire. They complete inspections and submit reports on-time. The manager is responsible for the actions of their employees so they invest time and effort into training their employees to represent themselves, their manager, their company and the company's partner as a responsible, quality organization.
LOCATIONS
Central and Northern California Western Oregon Southwest Washington along the Lewis River Northeastern Utah at the Flaming Gorge Southern Utah in red rock country Colorado in the Rocky Mountains along the I-70 corridor. Michigan
SCHEDULE
The typical Summer season is April/May to September/October. Higher elevations tend to start in May due to snow. AL&L maintains a bi-weekly payroll. Compensation is based upon hours assigned and worked. Wage rates are based upon the prevailing minimum wage. Hours may fluctuate according to usage and weather. Managers work 3 to 8 hours per day, 6 days a week. We assign the hours for each campground based on our knowledge and past experience. Couples can share the hours as you desire, but the hours must reflect the actual hours worked by each couple. We employ single campground managers where the workload warrants only one person. Uniforms are required and are provided. Employees are given one day off per week. This is usually a Tuesday or Wednesday, but other arrangements can be made if approved by the Permit Manager.
REQUIREMENTS YOU MUST BRING EITHER AN RV OR CAMPER TRAILER TO LIVE IN. TENTS, YERTS, AND SOFT-SIDED POP-UP TRAILERS ARE NOT ACCEPTED.

Lead by example:
be the first one to pick up a shovel and show employees how the work is done. Have superior Customer Service Skills Be able to defuse/de-escalate a tense situation between parties. Conflict resolution experience would be very helpful. Have strong computer-user skills Be physically fit enough to do the following: walking the length of a campground, Navigate natural terrain while using a handheld blower, Bend over to regularly clean toilets, Kneel to scoop out ashes from a fire pit, Lean over to pick up litter and fallen branches, Stretch your arms above your head to clip vegetation, Grip and drag a rake Carrying at least 30 lbs. of weight in a trash bag or barrel. Operate various landscaping tools including a shovel, rake, blower, clippers, and lawn mower.
THE DUTIES
Learn the what is expected by studying the Operating Plan, communicating effectively and often with the Permit Manager, and becoming familiar with our partner. Know the timelines and deadlines and form a plan of action. Know the difference between "Customer Service" and "The Customer Experience". Mold your campgrounds into places that provide positive "Customer Experience". Be a recruiter. The company needs quality managers and front-line, top notch hosts. Look for them. Be a important part of the hiring process by reviewing, interviewing, and recommending applicants in the Vensure Applicant Tracking System. Build a team and elevate it. Have high expectations, but demonstrate, train and mentor your employees so that you lift them to that level that meets your high expectations. Provide corrective and useful feedback to employees. Seek to praise and recognize, but make it sincere and well-earned. Develop a positive relationship between AL&L and our partner. Manage the district like a business. Be aware of budgets and expenditures, rules and regulations, needs vs. wants. Maintain vehicles and equipment and don't abuse them.
