Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience. 2 years of experience in program management. Experience with IP transit/peering, dark fiber, colocation, optical transport, and cloud technologies. Experience in telecommunications at carrier-class.
Preferred qualifications:
2 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects. Experience with analytical coding and frameworks including SQL, R, Go or Python. Experience with defining system or process requirements, building, integrating, or delivering large-scale layer 1, layer 2 or layer 3 network systems. As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you'll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You'll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers. The charter of the Global Networking Intake management team (GIM) is to drive creation of scalable network solutions by organizing people and technology to enable user success. Focused on the customer's experience. GIM's mission focuses on utilizing cross-Alphabet partnerships to incorporate product area network requirements into the Google Global Infrastructure (GGI) Tier 1 Delivery system. Our objective is to act as the central Tier 1 intake and order management hub for product area network needs that originate from Tier 0, facilitating the smooth alignment of customer demand with GGI's physical network delivery resources. Responsibilities Support and drive the edge allocations process which provides commitments against network orders. Run what-if simulations to support Product Area Network Managers (PANMs) with identifying available backbone network capacity. Support the PANMs and occasionally Technical Account Managers (TAMs) with delivering urgent capacity needs by driving the delivery across all cross functional teams in GGI. Act as the point of contact for customer capacity requests that are expedited or escalated. Collaborate with the planning, design, engineering and build teams to identify and implement network solutions that fulfil the PANM requirements.
