May review and evaluate the effectiveness of personnel. 5. May plan for and assign personnel to projects under control. 6. Operates with latitude for unreviewed action. 7. May receive general supervision conferring with higher levels only in unusual situations. 8. Performs other job-related duties as required. Postdoctoral Position at University of Houston, Numerical Analysis and Scientific Computing Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position within the Department of Mathematics at the University of Houston in the group of Numerical Analysis and Scientific Computing. The successful candidate will work with Dr. Yunhui He, with a research focus on the development of efficient solution algorithms for linear and nonlinear problems. Duties will include development and analysis of algorithms and their implementation in a high-performance computing environment. The start date is flexible, with the earliest possible start in January 2026. The appointment is for a fixed term of one year and will not be renewed. Opportunities for teaching may be available, if desired by the successful candidate. A PhD degree with emphasis on applied mathematics or scientific computing is required, with a preference for experience in multigrid, computational PDEs, numerical linear algebra, and/or nonlinear solvers. Previous interdisciplinary project experience is a plus. The application must include a cover letter, a CV, and contact information of three references letter writers.
