We are a multi-discipline software engineering team inside Hardware Engineering, delivering software that integrates cutting-edge AI/ML capabilities to support hardware and software engineering decisions. Our applications and services are used across engineering organizations, with direct influence on what ships to customers.

DescriptionAs an iOS/macOS Software Engineer on our team, you will design, implement, and enhance the native apps that enable Apple engineers to develop, evaluate, test, and verify products before worldwide release. You'll partner with cross-functional teams across Apple, working at the boundary of software, hardware, and on-device intelligence. The work is technically demanding, and the impact is broad.
Responsibilities:
Design and build production-quality Swift/SwiftUI features that leverage Apple's latest frameworks and servicesSolve complex, cross-layer technical problems spanning hardware interfaces, data pipelines, and native UIPartner with Audio, Bluetooth, Sensing, Home, Location, and other teams, contributing native development expertise and raising the technical barCollaborate across organizations to translate ambiguous requirements into concrete engineering plansLead design reviews, author documentation, and deliver substantive feedback on peer designsPresent your work to the team and leadership through demos, presentations, and retrospectivesPreferred QualificationsMaster's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, related field, or equivalent work experienceExperience integrating CoreML or on-device ML models into production iOS/macOS applications.

Demonstrated ability to profile and debug performance issues, including memory leaks and UI hangsExperience with Python and/or web-services developmentHistory of shipping zero-regression features or owning quality outcomes in a production environment Experience rapidly adopting new Apple frameworks and sharing technical knowledge within a teamMinimum QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, related field, or equivalent work experience4+ years of experience in iOS/macOS application developmentStrong proficiency in Swift, SwiftUI, Swift Concurrency, and Swift TestingExperience architecting and maintaining complex native apps in large production codebases, applying modern design patternsSolid understanding of multithreading, concurrency, and memory managementProven track record of writing testable, maintainable code that teams can build onExcellent written and verbal communication skills to both technical and non-technical audiencesPay & BenefitsAt Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $147,400 and $272,100, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
