Job Description

Upper School Visual Arts Job Description Hamden Hall Country Day School (Hamden, CT), a PS - Grade 12 private school serving 700 students, is seeking a full-time Upper School Visual Arts Teacher. Duties and Responsibilities Teach Upper School Visual Arts classes, which include various forms such as painting, drawing, sketching, 3-D art, and AP Art History. Guide and support student portfolio creation and the college admissions process. Manage and support students in independent courses Create an equitable and inclusive class environment that promotes community, integrity, respect, excellence, and empathy Design projects that stretch student thinking and imagination Scaffold assignments effectively and respond thoughtfully and promptly to student work Collaborate with colleagues to foster the arts within our school community Serve as a Upper School co-advisor Write thoughtful, articulate progress reports Eager willingness to support and to be present in the life of the school Experience with technology in the classroom To be considered, please submit your current resume and a cover letter to Helen Barnstable at hbarnstable@hamdenhall.org detailing your interest and experience for this role. Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Visual Arts or a related field. Advanced degree preferred 2 years classroom experience
