Washington, DC Job Details Full-time $60,000 - $72,000 a year 1 day ago Qualifications Photography Adobe Audition Video shooting Communication platforms Adobe Premiere Pro Project management Photo editing macOS Audio editing Productivity software Cross-functional collaboration Technical Proficiency Cross-functional communication Full Job Description Position Summary The Multimedia Specialist is responsible for planning, producing, and managing high-quality multimedia content that advances the mission, visibility, and strategic communications of Wesley Theological Seminary. As a member of the Communications team, this role serves the entire institution by creating compelling digital media for academic programs, marketing initiatives, institutional storytelling, events, and community engagement. The Multimedia Specialist collaborates across departments to elevate Wesley's brand through video, audio, photography, and digital media while ensuring consistency, quality, and accessibility. Key Responsibilities Content Creation & Production Record, edit, and produce high-quality video content for marketing, academic programs, and institutional initiatives Capture and edit photography for events, publications, and digital platforms Produce and edit podcast and audio content, including recording, sound design, and distribution Develop motion graphics, animations, and visual assets to support storytelling and branding Event & Livestream Support Lead multimedia production for virtual, hybrid, and in-person events (chapel services, lectures, webinars, and special events) Manage livestreams and video conferencing platforms (e.g., Zoom, webinar tools) Provide technical support for multimedia components of institutional programming Media Management & Distribution Organize, archive, and maintain multimedia assets, including raw and final files Maintain and manage multimedia equipment; recommend upgrades as needed Prepare and distribute content across web, social media, and other digital platforms Ensure accessibility standards are incorporated (e.g., captions, audio clarity) Collaboration & Strategy Partner with Communications and other departments to support institutional priorities and campaigns Contribute to multimedia strategy, including content planning and digital engagement initiatives Identify innovative ways to enhance Wesley's digital storytelling and audience reach Advise departments on best practices for multimedia use and content development Additional Duties Perform other duties as assigned in support of the seminary's mission Required Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, Audition; After Effects a plus) Experience in video production, photography, and audio editing Familiarity with Mac OS and Microsoft Office Suite Experience supporting livestreaming and virtual/hybrid events Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to meet deadlines Ability to collaborate effectively across teams Preferred Experience with motion graphics and animation Basic knowledge of web platforms or HTML Experience in higher education, nonprofit, ministry, or mission-driven organizations Core Competencies Creative storytelling and visual communication Attention to detail and production quality Resourcefulness and problem-solving Strong time management and adaptability Collaborative and service-oriented mindset
