The film focuses heavily on tension, realism, emotional intimacy, and environmental storytelling rather than stylized horror or exploitation. The tone lives somewhere in the world of Mindhunter, Zodiac, Prisoners, No Country for Old Men, and early David Fincher restrained, immersive, textured, and deeply human. This is a 14-location short film with a wide range of environments including suburban homes, garages, offices, hallways, bedrooms, workspaces, industrial areas, and emotionally layered domestic spaces. Some locations will already have strong natural texture, while others may require substantial transformation and enhancement. Looking for a Production Designer with a strong eye for: cinematic realism lived-in environments environmental texture and layering subtle psychological storytelling through space practical problem solving transforming ordinary locations into immersive cinematic worlds This is not a minimalist white walls and sparse props type of project. The goal is to create spaces that feel authentic, inhabited, aged, emotionally real, and visually rich without feeling overdesigned or artificial. Examples of the kind of work involved may include: transforming modern homes into believable 1990s environments aging and layering practical locations helping create grounded workshop / garage / office spaces enhancing real locations with texture, clutter, history, grime, furniture, wall dressing, practical lighting, props, paperwork, and lived-in detail collaborating on location selection and identifying spaces with strong cinematic potential This is a practical, grounded film that relies heavily on atmosphere and believable environments. A strong Production Designer will have a major creative impact on the final film.
