POSITION SUMMARY
Mechanical Automation Intern bridges the gap between mechanical design and automated systems, supporting tasks such as CAD modeling (SolidWorks, AutoCAD), designing components, programming control systems, and troubleshooting automation hardware. This role focuses on improving process efficiency, documenting engineering projects, and validating system performance under the supervision of Engineering.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Design and Development:
Utilize CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) to design components, machinery, and automated workflows.
Automation Support:
Develop and implement PLC programming, sensors, and robotics to improve efficiency.
Troubleshooting & Validation:
Perform hands-on debugging of mechanical assemblies, mechatronics, and automated processes, as well as testing prototypes.
Engineering Documentation:
Generate Bills of Materials (BOMs), technical reports, and operating procedures for new systems.
Process Improvement:
Analyze manufacturing workflows to identify bottlenecks and implement automation solutions to enhance performance. Machine components using CNC Mill and CNC Lathe.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education:
Pursuing a bachelor's in mechanical engineering.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks/AutoCAD) and experience with coding/scripting languages used in automation.
Soft Skills:
Strong analytical abilities, hands-on troubleshooting capabilities, and the capacity to work within multidisciplinary teams.
Tools:
Knowledge of MS Office (Word/Excel) and data analysis tools.
Machining:
Hands on experience in running CNC Mill and CNC Lathe.
