Summary of Position:
The MIS Specialist assists in planning and coordinating the activities and operations of the company's computer system including user support, network management, and installation and support of computer hardware and software. The MIS Specialist reports directly to the MIS Director. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Typical responsibilities and duties of the MIS Specialist include, but are not limited to: Assist in the design, implementation, and monitoring of all computer operations including selection of hardware and software; work with users to ensure end product needs are met; and implement and coordinate user needs assessments. Establish methods to ensure all users know and understand policies and standards. Coordinate all computer systems, hardware, and software purchases; ensure adherence to established company standards and industry compliance. Provide cost/benefit analysis and software/hardware compatibility for suggested projects. Perform analysis on all computer systems, hardware, and software to ensure maximum efficiency and optimum utilization is achieved. Maintain documentation of current system configurations including documentation security, auditing, and performance standards. Maintain a detailed inventory of all computer components, peripheral equipment, and software. Ensure that upgrades are performed regularly and in compliance with industry standards. Ensure maintenance contracts, licenses, and auditing procedures are current and accurate, and adhere to established standards. Identify opportunities for improving service delivery methods and procedures. Instruct users in operation of installed programs. Other duties as assigned by the Chief Executive Officer. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Requires a High School Diploma or GED and an associate degree or equivalent qualification. Minimum of two years' direct experience, preferably in a healthcare setting serving underserved communities, or at least two years' experience in a similar role with knowledge of Electronic Medical Records. Proven knowledge with Microsoft networks and Windows operating systems (word, excel, PowerPoint), telecommunications and networking protocols, computer system administration, and Microsoft Office Suite. Solid understanding of healthcare operations and change management Proven ability to analyze processes, solve problems, and contribute to the improvement of systems and solutions in a professional setting is required Experience with Federally Qualified Centers (FQHCs) is a plus Able to multitask with excellent and oral communication skills, strong attention to detail and the ability to work effectively, both independently and as part of a team Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced setting and consistently meet tight deadlines Participation in rotating on call scheduled, including weekends or evening as needed. Occasional travel is required to various locations. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Required to sit at computer for extended periods of time in order to perform job duties. Must have ability to work in a standard office environment; ability to sit, stand, walk, kneel, crouch, stoop, squat, crawl, twist, climb, and lift 50 lbs. This position may be exposed to mechanical and electrical hazards. Each position is required to travel as directed by the CEO. Universal Requirements:
