Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience. 6 years of experience in network operations. Experience in a data networking leadership or people management role.Preferred qualifications:
Experience in managing or leading large operations teams. Ability to use, understand and navigate Element Management System (EMS) and Network Management System (NMS) systems to manage optical networks. Who we are, we are a group of network development engineers responsible for break/fix firefighters for Google transport and peers infrastructure, simply we are maintaining the roads, bridge, sidewalk and tunnels so that users have reliable services all the time. Google's network provides services to millions of Internet users around the world. Our metros are on the edge of our network where Google connects to its users. The Network Team is responsible for operating that network reliably and at scale. Our team owns the full life cycle of all space, power, and network assets in all of Google's data centers and metro points of presence globally. From the foundation, we are involved from site acquisition to construction and are accountable for what space and power is delivered. We're involved in every facet of network delivery from architecture and design to installation, configuration, activation, and commissioning. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $150,000-$218,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities Act as a first responder for faults and outages on Google's production network. Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex network issues to restore service and maintain network health. Perform root cause analysis on network incidents and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
