Job Requirements Melbourne, FL Public Trust Polygraph not specified Early Career (2+ yrs experience) $80,000 - $110,000 Job Description We are seeking a highly motivated SAC Network Engineer to support the implementation, testing, troubleshooting, and acceptance of mission-critical telecommunications and IP network services within the FTI environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong telecommunications and networking expertise, excellent troubleshooting skills, and the ability to coordinate effectively with customers, telecommunications providers, and engineering teams. Key Responsibilities Execute and document formal acceptance testing of FTI products and services in accordance with program requirements. Install, configure, test, and troubleshoot telecommunications equipment and network services. Support telecommunications architectures including TDM, PDH, SDH, SONET, and IP networking technologies. Troubleshoot IP network configurations and support network issue resolution. Work with networking protocols including TCP/IP, DMVPN, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, EIGRP, HSRP, IS-IS, LDP, PIM, MSDP, and Ethernet. Coordinate site access and implementation activities with telecommunications providers and Harris field technicians. Test, validate, and troubleshoot communication circuits in accordance with IEEE, ITU, TIA, ISO, and FTI standards. Collaborate with FTI Engineering teams to resolve implementation, testing, and acceptance issues. Execute coordinated Maintenance Request (MR) activities supporting engineering changes and customer requirements. Support service disconnect activities throughout established Network/CPE environments following program disconnect procedures. Maintain detailed technical documentation and implementation records. Required Qualifications Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or related technical discipline; OR equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience; OR Associate's degree with a minimum of 8 years of related experience. Intermediate-level IP networking knowledge equivalent to CCNA certification or comparable hands-on experience. Experience with leading network vendors including Cisco, Juniper, Ciena, and RAD. Strong understanding of telecommunications transport technologies and IP networking. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical procedures. Strong organizational and project coordination skills with the ability to meet deadlines. Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance. Willingness to support flexible schedules, including possible 2nd or 3rd shift rotations. Preferred Qualifications Experience with MetaSolv or similar database modeling/software tools. Strong customer communication and coordination skills. Experience supporting mission-critical telecommunications infrastructure environments. Knowledge of telecommunications industry standards and best practices.
