Hear about the Caterpillar Experience for yourself Role Definition Caterpillar is seeking an experienced Engineering Project Leader to join the Drivetrain Controls System Simulation and Validation (DCSSV) organization to support Caterpillar machines with electrohydraulic brakes. This role provides project leadership and ownership for lower powertrain brake controls solutions. The successful candidate will serve as project owner for key drivetrain controls technologies, leading cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, robust solutions that meet both customer and enterprise objectives. This position requires strong engineering judgment, systems-level thinking, and the ability to communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and external customers. What you will do Lead the newly formed Drivetrain Brake Mechatronics team, focused on aligning machine programs with technology program requirements for lower powertrain systems. Lead the design, development, implementation, and validation of drivetrain control software and algorithms supporting lower powertrain brake systems. Provide project ownership and long-term stewardship of legacy business technologies, ensuring reliability, compliance, and continued value to the enterprise. Apply systems engineering principles to balance performance, durability, robustness, cost, and maintenance capability across brake controls solutions. Effectively collaborate with the machine teams to evaluate and determine design selections, verification activities, and validation efforts. Lead and contribute to process improvement initiatives across controls development and validation, including standard work, lessons learned, and best practices. Collaborate closely with mechanical, electrical, software, and validation teams to ensure seamless system integration and execution. Degree Requirement Bachelor's degree in an accredited Engineering curriculum, preferably: Electrical Engineering Mechanical Engineering Mechatronics Engineering Computer Engineering Systems Engineering Ag Engineering What you must have (skills)

Fluent in the techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
Decision Making and Critical Thinking:
Mastery of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach optimal decisions based on informed judgment.
Effective Communications:
Extremely effective use of communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
Project Management:
Mastery of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.
Computer-Aided Controls Systems Development:
Knowledge of tools and techniques of specialized systems engineering and validation; ability to produce, analyze, simulate and test controls design specifications.
Product Testing:
Knowledge of product testing approaches, techniques and tools; ability to design, plan, budget, and execute testing strategies and tactics to ensure product quality at all stages of development.
Troubleshooting Technical Problems:
Knowledge of troubleshooting approaches, tools and techniques; ability to anticipate, detect and resolve technical problems in a manufacturing or product development environment. Top Candidates will also have 10+ years of Engineering experience Lower powertrain component design or development experience Machine brake controls systems experience Machine performance experience Demonstrated ability to lead projects and collaborate with a multitude of process partners Experience with accountability for system development and integration project delivery on-time and within budget High personal and professional ethics; self-starter that requires minimal supervision, anticipates issues, and takes appropriate action. Iamcaterpillar Summary Pay Range:
$128,470.00 - $192,710.00 Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
